  • Kicking Off A New Year

    Funded Jun 28, 2015

Thank you so much for your continued support to our classroom!! Without amazing people like you teaching today's children would not be nearly as dynamic and exciting as it is. My students are in love with bright colorful Sharpie markers and being able to make big posters to show off their learning with. Markers run dry and poster paper gets used, so it is an ongoing need to my science classroom. Thank you so much for continuing to provide these highly desired learning tools. You are so special to my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lantinga

  • Bring Art Supplies to the Science Classroom!

    Funded Jan 20, 2015

Thank you all so much for your generous donations and making this project possible! Art supplies are so expensive and we use them often. Showing our learning in a poster with colorful markers brings a fun excitement to the classroom (the Duct tape is a wonderful addition as well). The kids are really excited to see the Air Dry clay as well! The kids will be creating some really cool models of how earthquakes occur with the clay and since it is air dry, they will be able to keep and display them as well.

Thank you so much for think of us and donating to the learning of so many!! You are appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lantinga

  • Encouraging Young Athletes With ESPN

    Funded Jan 11, 2015

Thank you all so much for your very generous donations to this project! The kids were literally speechless when I told them about this grant. The qualifying kids could not believe that someone would just give them a ball and were so excited to get started with practicing their new skills. I honestly think this has been my favorite grant yet and it would not have been possible without your help! Even if these select kids don't become a star athlete for their respective schools, they will certainly have a newfound appreciation for the sport they chose from.”

  • Supplies That Make Learning Awesome!

    Funded Dec 3, 2014

Thank you all so much for contributing to our project! The kids are very excited to move onto the next unit where they will be creating the different types of fault zones with their Play Doh. Students have also been very busy creating posters of how rocks are formed with their markers and poster board. Having high quality supplies, inspires high quality work!! Take a look for yourselves in the pictures that we posted and again thank you so much for your donations!! We couldn't do it without you.”

  • Produce For Kids Would Like To Help Us Out!

    Funded Jun 4, 2014

Thank you all so much for contributing to this project! My sixth graders eat lunch at 10:30 in the morning and are so hungry again at 1:30/2:00 in the afternoon. They were so excited, and a little overwhelmed, when they found out people who didn't even know them donated juice and Rice Krispie Treats to our classroom. We talked about the fact that it is very hard to learn when your stomach is grumbling and to that they all agreed! I hope you enjoy their thank you letters, they should be on their way soon.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lantinga

  • Disney Would Like to Help, How About You?

    Funded Feb 25, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class! Our materials have arrived and my 6th graders are so excited to have hands on materials available to them to study fossils from. Being able to get out a real example to hold, touch and examine is priceless. My 8th graders will be working with creating pedicel from vegetable oil and extracting oil from sand. They were very excited when the materials arrived and asked if we could do it "right now!" It isn't easy to get that kind of enthusiasm from 8th graders. Your donations make such a difference in the learning of so many. I cannot thank you enough.”

  • AKJ Books Would Like to Help Our Teens How About YOU?

    Funded Jan 1, 2014

I am always so amazed at the perfect timing of Donor's Choose grants. As we are getting ready to start our unit on Chemistry two wonderful books arrive with our AKJ Books..."The Cartoon Guide to Chemistry" and "The Illustrated Dictionary of Chemistry". It is books like these that just renew my excitement for teaching and my students' love of learning. When our big box of brand new books arrived the kids just go crazy with excitement. They argue over who gets to read which book first and ask so many great questions. Thank you so much for contributing to the new books for our class, it means the world to us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lantinga

  • AJK Books Would Like to Help, How About You?

    Funded Dec 12, 2013

Thank you so much for donating to our project! It was so exciting to open the box full of book with my students. The look on their faces was priceless and they were actually asking if they could borrow the books right now to take home and read. That is the most wonderful feeling a teacher can have for their students. Watching students become excited and asking for permission to read a book! WOW! This wonderful opportunity for students was realized because of you! I can't express my thanks and gratitude enough. Here's to keeping science alive through books.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lantinga

  • Disney Would Like to Helps Us Be Environmentalists!

    Funded Nov 27, 2013

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! My students can't wait to get started on their next unit in science. The fossil molds will be a huge hit I am quite sure. Previously we only used seashells to make our trace fossils, but now we can demonstrate what mold and cast fossils are as well. Normally we would just read about the different types in a book or watch a video about them and as we all know the actual hands on materials will help the students to truly learn and remember all about fossils. We will actually get to use the soil testing kit next week when we investigate what the contents of soil are.

I can't possibly thank you enough for your generosity. It will impact learning for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lantinga

  • Healthy Snack Choices With Matching Funds

    Funded Oct 2, 2013

Thank you so much for your kind donations! The boxes arrived this morning and my kids were flipping out with excitement!! The Rice Krispie treats are huge and came in a variety pack. The fruit snacks are also much larger than I was expecting and the kids are so grateful! I have so many students who participate in after school sports that looked like they were going to cry when I told them what the purpose of all these great snacks were.

Donors Choose and You are just so amazing for taking the time to provide us with such great opportunities! My students will be able to concentrate and participate because of you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lantinga
