I am requesting two easels, different color paint, paint brushes and paper for the easels so my students will be able to experience art and its many rewards. Because of their limited vocabulary, my students need every opportunity possible to help them express themselves, and by learning how to paint they will be able to communicate in a non verbal way. This is a fun and active precursor to writing. This art center will be a dedicated corner of the classroom where students can learn to express themselves and work with each other. Art projects will also be integrated into other subjects, such as math, social studies, language arts and science, to give students a well-rounded instruction.
