  • Bringing ART to the Classroom in a New, Creative Style!

    My third grade students are using all of these art supplies to create new and inspiring pieces of art. We used the watercolors crayons and cardstock to create these amazing six piece snakes. Students were able to take strips of cardstock and decorate them with designs with easy to use watercolor crayons. The designs and creativity that came out in this project was amazing. Some chose to dip the crayons in water first while others used them dry then added water once they got their designs down.

    When the supplies arrived students were super excited and amazed at new items. They were super excited to see the shelves in our classroom get filled up with amazing new items. To hear their excitement and discussions about the new art supplies and art projects we have planned for the school year was amazing. They were also so appreciative that people had donated to our classroom.

    We have one more quarter left of the school year. We are going to be studying about penguins in the next few weeks and plan to use the oil pastels to create large portraits of their favorite penguin in our story. We will also be making these peacock portraits as we learn to blend colors. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for donating. It has made a huge difference in our weekly art lessons and my students.”

Giving my students a variety of art supplies to create projects that allow them to use their creativity and explore new supplies that have not been readily available in their daily art lives. Teaching students how to blend colors or cut out shapes to make a colorful or creative animal will give them a chance to see art in a new and advanced way. The vibrant colors these supplies bring will allow students to believe in things that they thought they could not possibly do. Giving my students the opportunities to use a different part of their brain in a traditional classroom through art will help build confidence, belief and expansion of their already creative minds. Sometimes giving students the opportunity to try new things, brings out a whole new confidence and belief in them! I want my students to believe they can create quality and stunning work no matter their talent or ability. I am excited to reach all student in my class with these supplies whether they physically challenged, lack eye-hand coordination, or don't believe in themselves as artist. Seeing success in what they can do as artist can bring out some amazing social confidence within my classroom.
