  • 5th Grade Necessities!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. My students and I are very excited and cannot wait to receive our new supplies. They are looking forward to using the earbuds when enjoying small group activities and the gymnastics mat during instructional time. My coteacher and I cannot thank you enough for the chart paper. It will be put to good use during math.”

  • Ready 4 Tech-Knowledg-y

    Funded Dec 15, 2018

Thank you so much for the donation to our classroom!

As you might know, technology is extremely important in schools. It enhances student learning by enabling students to express themselves through a different modality. Technology also allows students to access new and more information that they have not been exposed to before.

The iPad donated to our classroom allows me to monitor student behavior through a website called Class Dojo. It provides students with a positive reward system that connects home and school. This is extremely important because it motivates students to try their best. It also allows parents to be aware of their child's behavior in school.

Students are also able to use the iPad to work on reading programs such as MyOn, Max Scholar or ABC Mouse. My students are very excited to be able to use these hands-on programs daily.

    Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. W.

  • Focus- Ability

    Funded Dec 10, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! My students were overjoyed when they saw the seat cushions, new whiteboard, and privacy partitions. They couldn't wait to use the new materials. Each one of these items has made a huge impact in our classroom.

The whiteboard has made a world of difference during instruction. It allows me to model and work with students more closely. The proximity helps them keep their focus and understand the topic at hand better. The privacy partitions have really helped my students focus during assessments. They allow students to block out all distractions and really focus on their assessment. I think my students especially love the seat cushions. They use them when sitting on the floor and when sitting in their seats. The cushions allow them to be comfortable and focus on learning.

My students can't wait to share the whiteboard with me and use it too!”

    Funded Jul 11, 2016

    Dear Donors,

My students LOVE their new art materials! They are so excited and proud to use these materials to make their work look GREAT. The look on my students' faces when they first saw these materials was pure excitement. They love having new, awesome materials to use as their own every day.

A few weeks ago we were working on a continent project for our social studies bulletin board. My students were SO excited to use these materials on their final drafts. They loved the fun colors and various coloring choices.

The next steps to use these materials in the classroom will be on their final drafts of their writing. Right now we are working on narrative writing. I am very excited to see these stories come to life with these wonderful art materials. Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our classroom. We appreciate every bit of love you donated to us.”

    With gratitude,

  • High Interest Books

    Funded Mar 13, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my students and my classroom! My students LOVE to read. They especially love to read books that they are able to choose from the classroom library themselves. These high interest books are a PERFECT addition to our classroom library.

Before we received the books, I spoke to my students about the books we would be receiving. They were so excited! For the next three weeks, they continued to ask, "When are we going to get our new books?!" Finally, the package arrived. When I told them what was inside, I could hear squeals of excitement. As I took each book out of the box, the kids grew more and more excited. They could not wait another minute to dive into this new reading material.

Since receiving all of our new books, we have used them numerous times. I have used Jumanji and Where the Wild Things Are as read alouds. My class especially loves read alouds, they are enchanted by the stories and glued to the pictures. They are also SO excited to go book shopping! They especially LOVE Junie B. Jones and Elephant and Piggie. During independent reading time, my room is completely silent, the children are "lost" in these books.

Thank you so much again for your donation and thank you to #BestSchoolDay for doubling that donation! I don't know what we would do without generous, caring people like you!”

  • Learning Games!

    Funded Dec 14, 2015

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom! My students and I love the resources that we received because of your donation. My students love using the learning games in both ELA and Math centers. One specific moment that really showed the impact of these games on our learning was when a student recalled something about place value that he had learned in one of the math. He used what he learned and what was reinforced when we were taking our chapter test! I was so proud of him and I was so happy that we had these games to help us soar to success.

When the materials first arrived, my students were overjoyed to see the boxes. I opened the boxes with them and as I pulled each game out, their faces lit up. They were so eager to get their hands on these games! They could not wait to play them. They also could not believe how generous someone could be. They were grateful that someone cared about their learning enough to donate money so that they could have all of these wonderful games.

The next steps for my students in math is to create a center day! I would love to have my students review all that they have learned in mathematics and ELA by using these centers for a whole day. I know that they will have so much fun while still learning. This will also allow me to work small group with some students who need extra reinforcement.

Thank you so much again for your donation. It means the world to both me and my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. W.

I have 29 amazing and unique individuals in my classroom this year. I am lucky enough to call them my students. We are a Title 1, low income school. Students come from diverse backgrounds where English is not often the main language spoken at home. We need all of the help we can get to watch our students grow, succeed, and exceed all expectations we place upon them.
