I work with 35 to 40 students per day. They are in the primary grades, kindergarten through third grade. Our school has primarily lower socioeconomic to middle class students, many of which speak English as their second language. Many of our students do not have personal libraries at home; therefore, they do not come to school with an internal love of reading. Our school emphasizes the importance of reading for a variety of reasons every single day.
