I recently attended a professional development class on introducing coding to elementary students. I learned some “unplugged” activities which do not require a Robot. I also learned how to use The Code and Go Robot Mouse Activity Set to teach “plugged” activities. The Code and Go Mouse Activity Set allows students to create a path for the Mouse or use a pre-printed path card to write instructions for the Mouse to find the cheese. Students learn to write the code, then program the code into the Mouse to move about the board. Students will quickly learn about “debugging” a program in order to correctly move the Mouse to the cheese.
