Teens for Tech
Funded Mar 23, 2022First of all, thank you for donating to our future. It takes a kind, large heart to donate to children you do not know yourself. Originally, the project was to bring technology to my students. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a Mac computer for my classroom. As with life we pivoted and continued on.
I was able to get some snacks for my students as well as some 3d pens. The snacks were a big hit. Many of my students come to school hungry and a snack makes their day! The students were extremely happy with the food!
The 3d pens were also a big hit. Students have used them to beautify projects, bulletin boards, and just draw.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Rawlins

Funded Sep 29, 2022Words are never enough to give thanks and praise for helping my students, but I will try. My students LOVE the new seats, especially my students who need to sit closer to the board. My students flipped when they first saw the bright orange chairs. They all wanted to try them out and they love working at them.
Since many students wear glasses, I cannot put everyone in the front. Thanks to these new seat, my students are able to move up and work closer to the board without having to move a desk or chair.
Thank you again for your compassion, thoughtfulness, and donations for my students!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Rawlins

Funded Apr 21, 2019Thank you so much for providing the means for my students to learn new skills in fun ways. This project allows many of my students to learn new things without having me look like an all knowing teacher. I personally love watching my students work together to meet the challenges of this project without hesitation.
One of the absolute best parts of this project is watching my students make mistakes and not freak out about it. Many of my students are learning the importance of learning from their (and others) mistakes.
Thank you all so much for giving my students much more than a project, but an adventure into learning.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Rawlins

Funded Mar 6, 2017These resources changed Garden Club for me because it's way more fun. We used the grow lights to put the plants in it which is really helpful . The plants have grown
very quickly under the lights unlike the others we tried to grow (they took forever to grow). This is one way how the resources you gave us changed Garden Club.
We are using your new materials this month by planting new plans and see how they grow and show us different way that we can grow plans. For example, some of our plans are growing in a root box. The root box allows us to see how the roots of the plant.
We have learned how plants can grow indoors. We learned how to have patience and how to not give up when things do not go the way you planned. We learned how to use soil and planters and how to make a sub-irrigation system.”

Mr. Rawlins
Teens for Technology
Funded Mar 9, 2016With this new technology, my students have done lots of new things. We can now use Iready in the classroom (a program that individualizes math lessons for each student). This allows students a chance to fill in some gaps in their learning while I work with a small group. The students like using the computers for this reasons.
The computers have also helped us with projects. One project that the students love to do is called Roommates. In this project, the students use eight websites to shop for the items they will need for an apartment. We get to discuss how to shop around and how to find the discounted prices and guess the taxes. The students have tons of fun shopping for their rooms and enjoy finding deals.
The computers will forever change my classroom, and I am forever grateful.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Rawlins
