Shining the Light on Our Love for Reading
Funded Apr 22, 2024My students loved the flashlights. It was such a hit, that many didn't want to go to specials for flashlight Friday. They preferred to stay in class and read. Thank you for providing us with this tool.
The students began requesting to use their flashlights daily. Students were engaged and reading to themselves or with a partner for an entire period. The room was extremely quiet as everyone was focused on their reading and engaged in their task.
Thank you for giving my students the gift to enjoy reading.”

Updated library needed!!
Funded Apr 12, 2016Dear Donor,
Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. The students love the wide variety of text options that they can choose from. I even find a few sneaking to the library and taking extra books because they are so excited that they can't wait to read them all. They love the options and it has fostered their love for reading. They are even completing book reviews at a faster rate so that they can get their hands on a new book to explore. Thank you for your support it is greatly appreciated.”

This classroom project was brought to life by #BestSchoolDay and 3 other donors.Have you ever wanted your own personal space?
Funded May 18, 2016Thank you for donating this wonderful tool for our classroom. We had our first peek at the boards today before we had our spelling assessment. The students were so appreciative that they all said thank you and asked to use the boards. We went over the rules for them before hand and it was such a treat that they were more relaxed in their own personal space. They even returned them to the stand without me commenting and they waiting nicely in line to return their board. What an impact!!!! Thank you for your support.”

Alternative Seating
Funded May 18, 2016Thank you so much for the alternative seating. As soon as the students walked into the classroom. Their eyes immediately went to the stools and they began questioning what they were. Some even tried to come and do a sneak test run. They were so excited and as soon as they were allowed to use them, the competition to work harder to be chosen to use them began. It was great. As each student had an opportunity to use the stools, they asked when they could use them again. Thank you so much for your support.”

Classroom Library Needed
Funded Dec 1, 2015The class was super exciting to explore their new books. Many of the students wanted to challenge themselves and buddy read with higher readers so that they could have an opportunity to explore all of the new books. They love reading and can't wait until after the holiday break to exchange their books. I love that they are so eager and requesting a class library is exactly what I knew my kids would love. The students love reading these books independently and with partners. They discuss their texts with each other and even make recommendations to their peers. I also see them going into other baskets trying to explore similar texts. I think I may have to create another project for more books. They are just absorbing theses books and are so eager for more. What else can a teacher ask for?”
