Many of my students live in the inner-city, and have not had a great deal of exposure to multi-cultural or historic literature. If they were given the chance to explore outside of their own neighborhoods and time periods, it could make such a great difference to these bright and shyly curious children. Literature offers such an experience, and I am looking for the means to share it with them.
