Hands on From a Distance
Funded May 20, 2020This school year has been like no other. Teaching in a pandemic has not been easy, but still so rewarding. Teaching through a computer screen has had its fair share of challenges, but being able to use the awesome materials in person and on zoom has been so rewarding.
So many students have been able to understand scientific concepts through the materials. Their favorite has been learning about plant and animal cells. This skill has allowed students to dive deeper and they have done research on their own and actually shared information with me and their classmates. I truly don't know what I would have done without these awesome materials.”

Funded Jun 29, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation and understanding that it is important for all children to see themselves represented in children's books. Every Monday I have books on display to read virtually to children and they get so excited to see what we will read during our morning meetings each day. We have also gone to neighborhoods to deliver books to students. My students have been able to apply what they read into their Science and Social Studies assignments and this is how it should be. So many times these subjects are over looked, but not this year. With these books they are truly soaring virtually and beyond. Thank you so much for caring about our future.”

Funded Sep 2, 2020The materials you purchased for my World Changers has truly been life changing. We are 100% virtual, but they still needed basic school supplies to help them navigate virtual learning. I was able to decorate the binders, personalize the notebooks, stuff their pencil pouches with pencils and other supplies, and stuff the clear bags with so many goodies they have enjoyed. Parents and students have reported that these materials have helped them to stay organized and also helped them to remain engaged. I had numerous students make Honor Roll and receive other awards and incentives. This would not have been possible without your generosity. I would go in the rain, sleet, or snow all over again to see these smiles. Thank you so much for your kind hearts.”

Funded Jul 16, 2020Virtual learning hasn't been easy, but it has been rewarding. I wish I could see my students in a classroom, but understand the state of our nation right now. The ring light has been such a blessing to have because students are able to see me better and guest that I have in my virtual classroom. The lighting can be tricky early in the morning because there is minimum sunlight, but the ring light brightens up this little space I have created in my home and the kids never have difficulty seeing me or anything that I am teaching because of the lighting. We have learned so much virtually and beyond. We are all thankful for your generous hearts during this trying time.”

Black Literature for Black History Month
Funded Feb 5, 2020If I had to choose my favorite day of the year, it would hands down be 2/28/2020. This was our Black History Program and the third grade students brought Children's Literature to life. It was absolutely phenomenal!!! They played their parts so well. Each of them received a collage photograph in the mail last week during this pandemic and they each received a copy of the book they played in their skit. The parents and students were elated to receive such special mail. Thank you all so much for making this project come to life. They now have pictures, videos, and a book they get to keep forever. When they look at these treasures years from now they will bring back so many great memories. Thank you for helping me make sweet memories.”

Funded Nov 30, 2019I hope each of you are well. We are transitioning into our new normal. It has not been easy hearing that our schools will be closed for the remainder of the year. The students had been striving all year to be in the millionaires' club and some were so close to get there. That has not stopped them from reading and working during this pandemic. They are reading and they recently received the materials along with photo albums in the mail. The text messages, voicemails, and phone calls have brought me to tears. They were so shocked at the books and tablets they received for working so hard. Their grateful little hearts has been keeping me going during this pandemic. Thank you so much for making us all so joyous and donating amazing materials to make us all better. I could never thank you enough.”

Back to School Beats
Funded Aug 14, 2019This speaker has been a life changer and a lifesaver in our classroom. It is small but mighty. The children love it and their favorite use so far was performing their holiday program dance using it. We practiced with it as well as used it for our music to perform. We did Holidays Around the World and the 3rd graders did Mexico and the kids got a standing ovation.
We also love to listen to our multiplication rap songs on it as well. When students come into the classroom in the mornings they are listening to jazz music to help them start their day, classical music during independent work time, and even some math rap songs during the day. They are in love with this speaker and so am I. Another plus is that is blue tooth so we take it all around the building with us.”

Funded Sep 16, 2019We are overjoyed to have plant based cleaning materials. It has helped tremendously with cold and flu season. So many children as well as myself suffer from seasonal allergies and the added chemicals in cleaning supplies do not help. The cleaning supplies for our classroom not only smell good, but we have had no allergy flare ups which is a huge plus for this time of year.
Students are able to help clean and they love the freshness of the spray and wipes. It makes me as a teacher feel so much better that not only am I promoting healthy eating but healthy cleaning at a young age. These children will grow up knowing that it is more ways to clean than chemical filled products.”

Back to School With a Bang
Funded Jul 18, 2019It has been a very busy start to our school year. Children came in ready to learn with the right materials because of you. I can never thank you enough because many times when the supply list goes home they are missing the most important materials such as pencils, paper, and expo markers.
This year students each received a pencil pouch with pencils, dry erase markers, multiplication cards, and crayons. They also received paper, folders, and notebooks to put in their desk. This is the first time in my career that every student was prepared on the first day of school.
You made the start to our year so much easier and the kids and myself had one less thing to worry about.”

Funded Jun 27, 2019My students were elated to find out they would receive a book on their birthday this year. One student said it would be perfect because he doesn't have any books at home and he loves to read, another student expressed this would be the first time she received a gift from a teacher on her birthday.
I've explained to my students that each book is so special because it was donated in memory of Patte Barth. There is even a sticker in memory of her in each book so my students never forget how special she was to the world and how much she loved reading. We have only been in school for 3 weeks and we've already had three birthdays. These world changers love their new books.”
