  • Black History Book Keepsakes

    Funded Apr 26, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous gifts. The students did a superb job in their Black History Bottle Buddies. They were so impressive that the media specialist wanted to keep them on display forever so that's what the kids decided to do. They loved being able to leave for middle school and leave a piece of them with us. The books were the icing on the cake. These keepsakes made their entire year. Their love for literacy will continue to flourish because of you and they can hopefully impact someone else with the history they have learned after successfully completing their projects.”

  • Mad Scientists Love Reading

    Funded Oct 17, 2023

This has been one of the most used projects in my classroom. I have always been so blessed to have donations and donors that truly care and love teachers. I was charged to teach 5th grade science along with reading at the last minute and it was not something I thought would be beneficial. In my mind Science has always been taught by the math teacher and the children succeeded. These books have been so beneficial. I use them in reading groups, to teach 5th grade science standards, and the kids LOVE using them for independent reading. They fly off the shelves daily especially with my 3rd period class. Thank you for your heart and all of your love to support my classroom. We are creating magic in science while still building vocabulary, finding the main idea, text features, text structure, and so many more reading skills.”

  • Welcome to the African-American Wax Museum

    Funded Feb 9, 2023

I will never be able to put into words how successful our African-American Wax Museum was. So many families came out for our all day rotation. The dynamic 5th graders learned about their historical figure and was able to become that person for the day during the wax museum. Not only did they dress the part but they truly came to life and taught our younger children in our school about their historical figure.

With your help you allowed each child to receive a book that went along with their historical figure. They also received a photo collage of their historical figures. The smiles and memories that were made will never be erased.”

  • Tech Time Is Learning Time

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for providing hands on learning to my classroom. Small groups have been a game changer. Being blessed with these materials really took our reading and free time small groups to the next level. Students are able to really understand the Georgia standards by writing down the answer on their boards instead of only having multiple choice answers as a choice. It allows them to strengthen their ability to answer constructed responses. Students absolutely love building with the Brain Flakes. They come in and start their day tapping into their creative side instead of a worksheet. This allows them to converse with their peers and start their day off in a relaxed manner.”

  • Flying First Class Into 5th Grade

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for the much needed materials to start the 2022-2023 school year off successfully. All students were able to receive labeled notebooks/folders, personalized bags to transition classes, clipboards to work independently and in small groups. Their favorite item has been the numerous amounts of colored cardstock. We have created so much with the astrobrights and cardstock. Students celebrated their "cool kids" popsicle social for outstanding character and grades. We also engaged in a "book tasting" with menus and other artifacts the students can add to their portfolio at the end of the year. They use numerous resources on a daily basis in our reading class that has been printed on colored cardstock and laminated for future uses. Thank you always for your continuous support and dedication to our classroom.”

  • Popping Into Learning

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

Thank you so much for your kindness. State testing is never fun, but I'm a firm believer in making things fun. Having a different outlook on anything can change how you feel about something. Months leading up to testing students were provided with fidget toys and a toolkit to help them ease the anxiety. The sleep masks were personalized, door hangers were made, and the fidget gadgets truly helped calm my students. The water bottles were personalized for all students during the festivities after testing. Your generous donations to our classroom truly made it a magical year.”

  • Game On For The Holidays!

    Funded Nov 23, 2021

We would never be able to thank you enough for the joy we felt this week. We had such a fun and festive week. From drinking smoothies as if we were on the beach, playing board games and taking a break from the computer screen, drinking hot chocolate, eating so many baked goods, and truly enjoying the last week before winter break was so refreshing. The kids couldn't stop telling me the joy they felt yesterday. I have received numerous emails from parents/families expressing their sincere gratitude. Thank you will never be enough. I pray each of you have a joyous holiday season.”

  • Every Vote Matters

    Funded Nov 17, 2020

Thank you for allowing my students to have a little bit of history in their homes. We have learned so much about voting and women's rights.

I have explained to my students that no matter where we stand politically, we are all equal and having Kamala Harris as our new VP is history. Students were elated to be a part of this history. They have tread their Joe Biden ans Kamala Harris books to siblings, their parents, and have wanted to have numerous discussions about these texts. We could never thank you enough for these books. Every vote, every child, and every human matters.”

  • Changing the World From a Distance

    Funded May 20, 2020

Thank you so much for allowing me to set up a virtual space at home. I was able to set up a small classroom in my home with all of the materials. The kids' favorite part was me reading to them in zoom everyday with the books that related to the Civil War.

We were able to experience science on the screen with the magnet kit, making circuits, studying plant and animal cells. It has been so much easier to teach as we navigate through this new way of learning. It has not been easy, but with the numerous materials we have truly learned so much. Thank you so much for thinking of us during the most difficult time.”

  • Who's Who in History

    Funded Nov 26, 2020

I will never be able to thank you enough for these amazing books. Teaching my students more about history this year has been such a joy. Students received these books for the holidays, when a few of them came back to school in person, and our DEAR program has been so much more meaningful.

Drop Everything and Read is a program students partake in for the first 30 minutes of their day and many of their parents have informed me they read their book from this project over and over. They love sharing what they've learned and also researching about the person they are reading about. These nonfiction texts have helped boost reading scores as well as simply enjoying leisure reading.”
