Glue-Draw-Tape-Store Replenish Our Supplies
Funded Jan 31, 2025I would like to thank you so much for taking the time to make a donation to Donor's Choose that specifically impacted my classroom and students. Our project may not have seemed like it contained exciting items, but they are things that impact our learning in STEM class.
Tape dispensers for masking tape are so helpful. When we work in groups, being able to share the tape and being able to use one hand to pull pieces makes things run so much smoother. Our littlest students are even able to use them with ease.
Floor tape may seem like something to use in a gym class, but our students use it as well. From marking out seating areas to making mazes for our Sphero Robots, we use it quite often. Our custodians also appreciate it when we have this tape because other types of tape leave residue on the floor.
New Sharpie markers always bring a smile to my students' faces. Many of our projects allow us to expand into using our art skills to create and decorate. Having so many color options plus enough for everyone to use at the same time is awesome.
We also are very thankful for our small drawer organizer. So many of our lessons involve Lego kits. This helps us to organize the individual pieces and have a system im place for students to independently find what they need.
While not the most exciting items, they are definitely needed and greatly appreciated in our classroom. Thank you again for helping us with your donation. We really couldn't do it without your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Webb
Rube-Goldberg and Boat Racing
Funded May 9, 2024I wish I had been able to video my students when they saw all of our new materials. Excitement doesn't even begin to describe it. Their interest and creativity just skyrockets when they have new supplies to add to their available materials.
My 4th grade students are thrilled that they will get to expand their study of buoyancy. The Raingutter Regata is going to add an additional engineering project and hands-on activity. Racing the "boats" that they have designed and built adds a real life aspect to design and testing.
The 5th grade students are already making plans on how to design a Rube-Goldberg style contraption with the dominoes, marbles, and Straw Connectors in addition to other items in our STEM lab. AS part of our long-range plans, the students will get to complete this in January.
I thank you so much for your generosity that results in further learning for my students.”

Funded Mar 25, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation so that our class could receive glue, a hot glue gun, light-changing beads, and art paper. Your gift has been incredibly valuable to our STEM class.
These supplies have allowed our students to create and experiment in exciting new ways. The glue and hot glue gun help us build and assemble projects, while the light-changing beads add a fun, interactive element to our activities. The art paper is perfect for sketching and designing prototypes. Your support has made our learning experiences even more engaging and hands-on. We truly appreciate your kindness!”

Creating and 3D Printing
Funded Nov 8, 20233-D printing is a super curious thing for my students. So many know about it, but do not have access to a printer. We were given one from a school family, and were able to get the filaments from your donations.
We are still learning how to use it, but we have been able to make a few fun things and key tags for our students who earn our school "Catsby award". We are all jumping in with both feet and are making our fair share of mistakes. But that is a great part of the learning process. Having to figure out about measurements and making adjustments for our projects to be successful.
Thank you again and know that you are helping our kids be successful in their learning.”

Funded Nov 8, 2023Thank you so much for your donation to our project. We use a lot of tape in our class and being able to have larger masking tape dispensers makes things so easy for our students.
The classes were excited to see the new dispensers sitting on our supply bookcase when they came in. Our younger students are the most excited. Their little hands struggle trying to pry the end of the tape from the roll. The dispenser makes it so much easier for them when we are working on projects.
Tape may seem like such a trivial thing, but in our environment, it is really important. Thank you again for supporting us.”

Funded May 10, 2023As our school year has just begun, our kindergartners were the first to use our Keva planks.
After reading Chicka, Chicka, Boom Boom, we built our own Chicka Chicka trees. They were so excited to use the Keva planks to be the main part of their tree.
They are so excited because they will be getting to build other structures to link to other books, such as The Three Little Pigs. And then we will use them to work on our forces and motion unit in science.
Within the next few weeks, the older students in our school will also get to build structures to intertwine with their sTEM projects.”

Funded Jan 23, 2016Thank you so much for your donation toward the purchase of Makey-Makeys for our classroom. My students were absolutely ecstatic when they got to open the boxes to use them. The first thing they did was work with a partner to use the Makey-Makeys and play-doh to create a keyboard using a computer program that created a virtual piano. Ooohs and aaaahs were heard throughout the classroom as they discovered what they could do with the kits. Using the Makey-Makeys not only gave the students an opportunity to use the computer, they also used what they had learned in science about conductive materials.
The next project they took on was to create a drum kit out of various conductive items and then to write a program in Scratch that would allow someone to "play" the drums. The drum kit was connected to the Makey-Makeys and the students created their own songs.
Being able to have the Makey-Makeys in my classroom allows my students to tie together things they have learned in all areas of their learning along with computer programming. It is truly helping us to create 21st century learners.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Webb
