  • Engaging Literacy Using Technology

    My students were so, so excited when our package came! Everyone gathered around to see what was in the box!

    When I pulled out three tablets, the excitement grew even more! We have a reading program that we use at our school. Unfortunately, we only have 2 working computers to share among 28 children. Now we have three tablets that the children can use to access the reading program, helping them to learn and grow.

    The children are also able to use the tablets to access additional reading sites, as well as interactive books.

  • More Wiggling and Wobbling to Learn!

    My students and I were so excited the days our Wobble Stools arrived! The children recognized the boxes and we excitedly opened them! Wow! The students happily helped to put the stools together and discussed all the times they could use them. They even transformed the enormous boxes into "Reading Boxes"! Every day children get to read and work on the wobble stools--- it makes reading and working so much fun!

    The Wobble Stools are used throughout the day, allowing the children wiggle while they work!

  • Wobble and Bounce to Learn!

    My students and I were so excited the days our Wobble Stools and beanbag chairs arrived! The children made predictions as to what could be in the enormous boxes and then we got to excitedly open them! Wow! The students happily helped to put the stools together and discussed all the times they could use them. The children were thrilled to lay on the giant beanbag chairs to read! They even transformed the enormous boxes into "Reading Boxes"! Every day children get to read on the beanbag chairs, the wobble stools, and in the "Reading Boxes"--- it makes reading so much fun!

  • Rug Wanted!

    Thank you so very much for the carpet donations!

    The day of arrival was so very exciting! In walked the Fed Ex men to our classroom while we were working! An enormous present! What fun! When I unrolled the carpets and set them up, the children's eyes lit up, amazed by how gorgeous the carpets are. They excitedly announced that they could read on carpets!

    Since getting the carpets, my students quickly come to the rug when called, excited to read and learn! An added bonus is that they remind each other to walk around the "new carpets" and not over them, and to never play around when on the "new carpets". It is so exciting to watch them establish responsibility and take care of our classroom and to watch out for one another.

    We look forward to continuing to read, learn, and enjoy the beautiful carpets!”

Unfortunately, the old carpets were ripped up and replaced with hard floors.
