The Easel on Three Legs, Collapsible and Unreachable, Must Retire!
Funded Aug 25, 2016Dear Donors,
First, I would just like to send a HUGE Thank You to all of you! I was able to reach my goal because of YOU! THANK YOU! We now have an easel that does not fall over AND is at kid height. It is a huge improvement and we are very appreciative!
We use the easel all day. My students use it to spell words during word work and show their thinking during science and social studies. I use the easel to make anchor charts with my students, show examples, post no-name papers, have written directions and so much more. A couple of my students asked to practice their words on the board together and it was so sweet to watch these girls acting as the teacher to each other all while practicing their spelling words.
When I had first received the package, all of my students were so curious as to what was in the giant brown box. I told them that they would have to wait and see the next day what the surprise was. When they came in the next day they were trying to figure out what looked different in the classroom when finally one student came up to me and said "umm Ms. Roth? Is that a new easel?" I responded that it was and she was the first to figure out what the surprise was! She said, "Oh my gosh! It is so cool!! I love the buckets underneath it!" She then went around and told everyone what was different, they were all excited to see the easel.
My students are currently learning about how animals and plants adapt to their habitats. We are working towards comparing and contrasting different environments and habitats to understand how animals and plants change depending on where they live. We are starting a unit called Digging for Meaning in reading. We will be learning how to pick out the important parts of a story and make those parts a summary.
Again, thank you so much for your generous support. My class and I appreciate each and every one of you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Roth
