• College Language Lab

  My students and I appreciate your donations to my project as it has made a huge impact in their learning and education. My students have enjoyed doing research and PowerPoint presentations. Many of them have developed better Spanish speaking skills and have gotten very creative in two recent projects. My students have more access to technology and more culture in the classroom as the web provides so much learning. My students have been able to use the speakers to listen to a variety of music and Spanish audio books. Listening to the Spanish language in a variety of different way is crucial as students need the practice for communication, comprehension and the Spanish Regents. My students and I thank you sincerely.”

• College Media Success: LCD Projector and Camera

  Funded Dec 14, 2009

  Thanks so much for your immense contribution to my project. My students have made wonderful use of the LCD projector. They have been able to watch movies and present PowerPoint presentations using the Spanish language. I have been able to use a variety of visual aids using the Internet and documents to show my students who are visual learners. Students have been so enthusiastic using the camera and taking pictures of their favorite object and places. The camera has been a joyous experience and is also used to take pictures of school and classroom events. This year our students traveled to an international trip and they were able to use the camera to depict their travel along with other school based trips. My students and I are very appreciative of your generosity and appreciate your support. Thanks so much!”

• College Language and Media Lab

  Thank so much for your generous contribution to our school. My students are delighted to have received all these wonderful technology media for our Spanish classroom. My students have been using the netbook for Spanish research and have been able to learn many cultural topics that they didn't know before such as learning about the Spanish countries and their capitals as well as traditions. They have also been listening to Spanish music from different countries using the DVD rom. They already have selected the movies they want to watch and their first choice was the movie Selena. They will soon begin working on their PowerPoint presentations where they will use the card media to introduce a photo collage where they will write sentences in the present and past tense. I can't wait to see their results. All this technology continues to motivate my students to be better students and to continue learning Spanish. ”

• College Media Center

  Thank you so much for your wonderful contribution to our class project. My students were so excited to received the ipods. Many of them don't have this modern technology and they were so quick to learn about the apps and the podcasting. They are so interesting in the podcasts that they want to be able to create their own in a group project. My students are able to select many different applications and listen to a variety of music as well as many other applications such as the Spanish news and learn more about different cultures. We were able to also save a variety of pictures using the flashdrive and students are able to discuss and write about the pictures they select. I am able to do more listening activities using the podcasting. I am able to select the appropriate levels of understanding for my students based on their academic level. Listening to the Spanish language is more engaging and more fun now that my students have such interesting media/technology. I am very appreciative that these resources are being provided to my deserving students. Thank-you so very much. ”

• College Technology Awareness

  Thank you so much for the generous contribution you made to my students and my Spanish

  classroom. The netbook has allowed my students to gain more interest in the Spanish language. If they are uncertain about a topic or the translation of a word the students have immediate access to the answer right away. Since we don't have dictionaries, students have taken full advantage of the online dictionaries sites. The students now have access to take online Spanish quizzes and hear online stories and different dialects in Spanish. My students also enjoy listening to music and they have been able to listen to music and pronunciation through the use of the headphones. The students are very excited of the endless educational possibilities that the internet provides. My students didn't know how to create powerpoint presentations and now they are learning these skills that they can utilize in college. They are learning how to take a Spanish topic and make it presentable, professional and creative. I am able to save all their projects and keep all their projects saved on the external drive so it can be used as model sample for future students. Technology is so important and engaging to my students that it makes their learning more meaningful. Thank-you for caring about education and our students. ”

• Cultural Lessons Using Technology

This wonderful computer will be used to do many cultural lessons, to watch movies, to do oral presentations, practice Spanish exams and any other interests that my students may have. Technology is so important in today's education and my students appreciate this computer and flash drives and will use it to the best of their ability. I will also begin setting up a mini Spanish lab so students can improve their listening skills. Without your help, this would have never been possible. • Spanish College Reading Center

  Thanks so much for your generous contributions to my student's education. My students were so excited to get these books, especially the dictionaries and the Narnia Spanish books. They are now more excited about reading and learning about different cultures. These books will be used in all my different classes and students will be allowed to also take them home for independent reading. Student will be doing book reports, oral readings and most importantly use this literature to better prepare them for their Spanish college courses. My student's dream of having their own Spanish library is now a reality thanks to all your generous donations. My students and I thank you for giving them this opportunity and making their learning a more enjoyable one. ”
