This is a very diverse Title I School where every student receives free breakfast and lunch. Moreover, this school has a well-supported English Language Learning population. Many of these students face unimaginable circumstances. Due to this population, reading and writing skills are somewhat intensive. However, this classroom supports the needs of the whole child while fostering and sculpting reading and writing skills. A typical day in this classroom includes student-led activities and projects. Students are conducting scientific investigations, mathematical problem solving, and even engineering design projects! Moreover students use concepts from social studies and science to cook, build, create dramatic interpretations, and even compose music. Book clubs allow the students to read books that interest them as it relates to the curriculum. Students have various roles, lead discussions, and create projects.
