My scholars are african american and hispanic Kindergarteners. Most of my scholars come to school with no prior knowledge or school experiences. In return, they need extra care to ensure learning. Our school, is one the highest poverty stricken schools in one of the most dangerous areas of Charlotte, NC. It is my job as their teacher to help them escape their neighborhood that shouldn't define who they are or determine their levels of success.
