The future of tomorrow sits in my classroom each day waiting for an adventure. Students of varying ethnicity's share the same desire...to connect to the world around them. My classroom consists of ten girls and sixteen boys. The students range in age from ten to eleven. The class is made up of six percent Hispanic, thirty-four percent Caucasian and sixty percent African American. Thirty-eight percent of my students are below average on student assessments, thirty-two percent of my students are above average on student assessments and thirty percent are average on student assessments. My school is comprised of twelve hundred students in three grades. It is made up of fifty percent African American, fourteen percent Hispanic, six percent other and thirty percent Caucasian. It is ninety percent free and reduced price lunches.
