I know, I know it is the age of technology and students should use computers in a more academic manner. In my classroom, we are moving towards being more technologically centered. However, that works in class only. The majority of my students do not have access to the Internet or computer usage regularly. If I want my students to practice tasks at home, I must reproduce those activities. If I need to send notices home to inform parents of progress, we rely on good ol' fashion paper notices. Even during small group instruction and learning centers, we use paper as we only have a small amount of laptops available daily. Pass the paper, pencils and markers, please, so that my second graders can practice the skills they need to make this a successful year!
