The students in my classroom are pretty amazing kids. These students have the same goals and aspirations as their regular education peers, as well as the peers in neighboring suburbia. These kids have a lot more on their plate though, which in my mind makes them stronger. They should be given access to the same educational opportunities as students in wealthier districts. Unfortunately that is not the case, and due to budget cuts, many of our teachers myself included spend their own money to get supplies for their classrooms and students. Due to my students and their disabilities, they need a more hands on multi-sensory approach as well as continuous exposure to the world around them.
