This classroom project was brought to life by Utah State Board of Education.Independence For Me! Special Education Students Follow A Schedule
Funded Oct 24, 2018Our classroom has considerably adored the resources that we have obtained. Our students helped us open the boxes, and their faces lit up as they saw all the new, engaging materials. They have been so excited every time they can work with them, and we strive to engage with them as much as we can.
These type of materials are exceptional for fine motor and independence training, and these materials in particular are highly distinguished as the most durable, colorful, and engaging materials that help our students in incredible ways. The students are required to follow a schedule to access them, and the students are eager to do so.
The materials have shown the required endurance needed within this classroom, and we are excited to have the opportunity to use them for a long time. And the organizational materials have been just as great. They shown great fortitude under pressure, make procuring a specific task a breeze, and create an environment where students can show the independence that they need.
Our classroom is incredibly appreciative for the assistance you have shown us.”

Funded Oct 23, 2017Thank you for your donation to my classroom of students with moderate to severe special needs. The students absolutely love the new iPad. It has provided hours of engaging and fun educational games. The students earn the privilege to use the iPad, so it has helped to motivate them to complete tasks that aren't as engaging. The colored ink has provided materials that are visually stimulating and far more interesting than black and white copies. The students connect better with bright visuals! Their rates of correct answers have improved with colored visuals! That is a big deal for these students who sometimes take years to master a concept. The games and toys sent to my class have been well loved and used! The blocks are being used for problem solving skills. I love when I see a student figure out how to make a castle or a house! We have loved the materials that were provided to my classroom. Thank you, thank you!”

Listening and Learning in Special Ed!
Funded Nov 28, 2016Thank you so much for the chrome book, Bluetooth CD player and pad! We also love the books on CD. My students enjoy practicing their spelling words on the chrome book. The chrome book is easier for some students to navigate, as opposed to a mouse.
We also love our new iPad mini! The iPad touch screen is a magical learning tool for my students with cerebral palsy! They play categorizing games, rhyming games, match objects, colors, cause and effect, and other fun games. The students don't even know they are learning!
The Bluetooth CD player makes our music collection so much bigger- we can play music from Pandora, amazon, and iTunes through the Bluetooth. We play classical music during work time and it really seems to calm the students down and help them focus. We play pop music during physical and occupational therapy.
Some of my students are completely non-verbal but respond to technology. It's so wonderful to watch them excited, motivated and ready to work.
Thank you for helping my class advance their skills and become more independent. Each one of my students have so much potential. Sometimes it can be tricky to find the right tool to help unlock that potential. Your generous donations have given us more tools to help find the right one for each students. Thank you from the parents and teachers of the lucky students of Brookside Elementary!”

Technology Adventures with Special Needs Students!
Funded Nov 2, 2015It is with sincere gratitude I I thank you for donating to my classroom. As a teacher of students with special needs, I am thankful for the recognition that all students can learn! We received three iPad minis, protective covers and a Nintendo Wii game system and two games.
Students in my class are using iPad apps to learn to find the individual letter sounds in three letter words, discover fun ways to master math concepts, practice their fine motor skills and match colors, numbers and letters.
We work on academic, functional and social skills goals in small group of 2 students. It is very helpful to work with one student individually while the other student is engaged in a learning game on the iPad.
We have been using the Wii as a reward and it's been great physical therapy for my students with limited mobility. We also use the Wii with our regular education friends to build stronger relationships and help them realize that kids with special needs are kids first and they love to dance and play!
This technology is expensive and many parents cannot afford to buy this technology for their home. I am so thrilled that I can provide a school experience rich with multiple modes of learning.
I feel good at the end of the day knowing that I have provided my students the best learning experience possible. Thank you Google!!”
