  • Classroom Supplies

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my Second Grade classroom. My students came to school in September and had all the necessary supplies such as pencil boxes, glue sticks, and journals to start the year.

Each child now has a binder that he/ she uses to organize all their papers and homework.

This year I started the " incentive station" where students can pick a prize for accomplishing a goal or going above and beyond showing empathy, kindness and/or being a "Kennedy Cougar." Thanks to your generosity the station was filled with stickers, pencils, and fidgets.”

    With gratitude,

  • The Majestic Ocean

    Funded May 10, 2024

My parents were so thrilled to visit my classroom on "Ocean Day." Thanks to your support for making this day happen. Every child created a diorama on an ocean animal and had the supplies such as clay and markers to be able to accomplish this activity.

We had new ocean books that we used as read-alouds and displayed for students to use to research their animals.

My students loved coloring the giant coloring paper. A craft that they really enjoyed was making the scuba divers look like them. Having supplies to do these fun activities is so appreciated.”

  • Supplies, Supplies

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you for contributing to my project. My students were so happy when they came to school and had all the supplies that they needed for a successful school year. Their pencil boxes were filled with crayons, erasers, glue sticks, and lots of pencils. Each child received an O.W.L. Binder to keep them organized with their homework and their phonics fluency pages.

In my cart I added classroom supplies like the Expo spray, markers and stickers for easy access. When a student is doing something "Extra Amazing," I can let them pick a sticker to bring home.

My students also love having colored pencils and markers to use for projects like book making. Designing a book cover with markers makes them feel like an illustrator.”

  • Scholastic News

    Funded Aug 9, 2023

Scholastic News is an amazing resource for my classroom. The online component just enhances the learning for my students. As shown in the pictures, my students love to learn through dance.

In Math we just finished graphing and our Scholastic article reinforced that skill. In phonics, we are learning the difference between short and long vowels. My students loved playing the online bus game, deciding which word had a short or long vowel sound.

Every article is so different and exciting. My students loved learning about how children from around the world get to school.”

    Mrs. Lavigne

  • The Ocean Awaits

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to my ocean project. My students had so much fun learning about the ocean and ocean animals. Having supplies like crayons, colored pencils, stickers, and miniature ocean animals made creating their dioramas easy.

Students loved taking turns and coloring the ocean poster. We made orcas and a coral reef with all the supplies that I received from Donors, like you.

Parents and guardians got to come to my class for "Ocean Day" and see all the projects that their child did and all that amazing hands on learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lavigne

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Aug 25, 2022

Thank for you so much for your generous donation to my class. My students love all the new materials for their classroom. The Dry Erase circles have been a favorite. Students solve math problems, write sentences, show phonics knowledge and then quickly erase their answers and are ready for the next task. The circles are reusable and save paper.

The folders have been extremely helpful. They hold the skill builders ( printouts) from our reading/phonics program called Lexia. Every time a student passes a level they get more skill builders, so the folders are being used throughout the year. The scissors and glue are also needed for the skill builder pages.”

  • A Head Start

    Funded Jul 27, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. In September each student received a pencil box filled with crayons, glue sticks, scissors and pencils. My students were so excited to see their new boxes on their desks. Their desks also had their new nametags on them which made finding their desks so fun. The nametags are used daily by my students since they have a 100s chart, letters and numbers on them.

Each student also received a binder to keep their homework organized and use as a privacy binder to take tests.

My class really appreciates your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

  • Read All About It

    Funded May 5, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation that gave each student a monthly copy of Scholastic News. Scholastic News are articles in either Science or Social studies and include diagrams, timelines, and graphs. We just learned how to compost a mushy pumpkin.

There is also an online component. The text can be read aloud to the class and has different instructional levels to reach all my learners. The site also has a short video on the topic the students will be learning about, vocabulary cards and worksheets that are aligned to the curriculum. However my students favorite part is the game. Each game is different but checks understanding of the article. So much fun!!!”

  • STEAM Ahead Indoor Recess

    Funded Dec 20, 2021

I can't thank you enough for donating to my STEAM indoor recess project. My students are enjoying all the new games. They love Candyland, Jenga and Uno. Many of my students have never played these games, so it was so enjoyable to sit with them at recess and teach them how to play games. The Magnetic Tiles have been the favorite new addition to the class though. It is so popular that I have to "Pick Sticks" to make sure every student gets a turn to use them. I love seeing my students create buildings, flowers, mazes, and just yesterday a bunny.”

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Sep 16, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity towards my class. Many of my classroom supplies were depleted last year due to the pandemic. Having new basic supplies like sharpened pencils, glue sticks and whiteboard markers help my students start the day feeling ready to learn.

My class loves the author Mo Willems and we have enjoyed reading the new books aloud. The books are displayed on the bookshelf, so students can reread them when they have free reading time. I love hearing them discuss the books with each other.”

Flexible seating will allow movement in an appropriate way while staying on task. Allowing students to have a choice of flexible seating during writing center time will help students to be successful as they work to capture their ideas in their journals. Providing each student with a journal will assist them in capturing their ideas and keeping their writing organized. Students will be able to revisit previous writing entries and see, firsthand, how their writing has progressed over the course of the school year. I will be able to provide feedback to my students in their journals to assist them in improving their writing.
