  • Live Science!

    Funded Jul 17, 2018

Thank you all for supporting our class’ Donors Choose Project. I am so excited to get the new school year started, and it is crazy to believe we are just a few weeks out. I am always looking to revolutionize my classroom, and this technology will help empower my students to be leaders in their own learning. Thank you for being supports of not just me, but the future of my amazing students. I cannot begin to express my gratitude. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Miller

  • The Bones of the Body

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

I would truly like to thank everyone for supporting our class project, Bones of the Body. I have always been a firm believer that a science class needs a model skeleton, and thanks to you that goal has been accomplished. My students are quite intrigued with the skeleton, always coming over and comparing their hands to it's hands or their skull to the model's skull. The students also love posing him. With science, you need some whimsy and he adds that element to the classroom. Students have even gone as far to name him, "Indiana Bones!"

I am truly thankful for your support on this project. This is my first year teaching middle school science, and as a teacher, I simply want the best for my students. Having a full scale model skeleton was amazing as we learned about the skeletal system in our unit on the Human Body. It brought the lesson to life, and for that I am grateful. Thank you, once again for all your support.”

  • Supplying Creative Learners in Science

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting my students, as well as the project Supplying Creative Learners in Science. By supporting this project, you helped our class get artistic with their science. You helped add the "art" to STEAM Education (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math). When i first created this project, I had not idea how important it would be in the everyday use within my classroom. The project gave our class massive sets of Crayola products (colored pencils, colored markers, crayons, etc.), easels of Post-it chart paper, post-it notes, sharpies, and glue sticks. I can say with all honesty, we have used most of these items daily. We do a lot of notebooking with our class notes, and these everyday classroom materials allowed my students to express their own personal style in their notes. The materials have simply been amazing to have in the classroom. Thank you, once again for supporting my students and their instructional needs. Donors like you are truly amazing!”

  • Measuring Mass and Newtons

    Funded Jul 30, 2017

I would like to thank you for supporting my class in funding the Measuring Mass and Newtons Project. This project provided multiple balance-pan scales and spring scales for students to practice measuring an object's mass, as well as investigating the amount of force applied to an object. We are now beginning our Forces and Motion Unit, but prior to this unit, the students were tasked with mini-investigatory labs where they could explore the science tools and explore their scientific curiosity.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for supporters, such as yourself. I am truly thankful for all that you contributed and I would like for you to know that you have made an impact on my students by encouraging them to engage in hands-on science. My students are building their foundations in science concepts. Thanks to you and your donation, my students had the proper tools to practice and investigate mass and force. Thank you for helping to make a difference.”

  • A Series of Sensational Student Readers

    Funded Nov 29, 2016

I would once again like to thank you for your support of my class by helping to fund our class project. This project helped our class receive the over 15-different series of books, from Goosebumps to the Wings of Fire Series. My students were so excited about the books and could not wait for me to even put them on the shelves before they began reading them. I am always looking for reading books that will challenge and captivate the minds of the students in my class. The materials arrived right after you funded our project, and my students jumped right into reading them.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for supporters, such as yourself. I am truly thankful for all that you contributed and I would like for you to know that you have made an impact on my students by encouraging them to read great books. As young readers, they are venturing to new literature, and these are timeless books that get students hooked on reading and books that everyone can enjoy. Thank you for helping to make a difference.”

  • #StopTheBullying

    Funded Sep 6, 2015

I would like to start by saying thank you. I am very appreciative to you for your donation to my class. It is great that you feel as strongly as I do about the concept of bullying. I believe it is important to have open discussions about such a serious topic in this day and age. With your support, the students in my class utilized various resources to learn and deepen their knowledge about the subject and the impact it has on others. I feel this helps students in building a kinder, more caring community. The openness in the discussion of bullying in schools helps students become more aware of their actions and ultimately develop a more respectful sense of self.

I started this project to help my class have resources to explore the topic of bullying. Each resource, books and videos, help my students learn what actions classify as bullying and more importantly what to do if this issue happens to them. I think having these resources help students think of their actions and bring to light the effects bullying has on others. I thank you for supporting me in making an effort to help shape my students to become the quality citizens we want them to be.”

  • Geometric Go-Getters

    Funded Jul 21, 2015

I would like to start by saying thank you. I am very appreciative for your donation to my class. It is great that you feel as strongly as I do about the need to get students to have fun with mathematics. Because of your support, the students in my class are more engaged and willing to explore various polygons, polyhedral, and volume through the activities in this project.

I started this project to help my class gain access to hands on materials and activities that engage students in various aspects of geometry. Learning through play makes learning fun, interesting, and important to my students. My students love using the activities provided from this project. They enjoy playing geometry bingo, building different 2-D polygons and 3-D polyhedrons (i.e. triangles, pentagons, cubes, or triangle pyramids). It brings geometry to life in a way that their textbook cannot. As for me, I am ecstatic that my students can already name most shapes because of these kits, and we have not even begun the chapter. I am truly appreciative for this.

Thank you so much once again for all your support.”

  • Let's Get Digital

    Funded Jul 12, 2011

I would like to start by saying thank you. I am very appreciative for your donation to my class. It is great that you feel as strongly as I do about how crucial it is to get students to have fun with reading and mathematics. With your support, the students in my class are more engaged and willing to explore challenging work through the use of various software products.

I started this project to help my class gain access a multiple software titles that focus on reading and mathematics. Each program engages and captives the minds of my students. With these programs, my students can read a range of texts and work on various levels of mathematics problems including long division, problems solving and early algebra. I know my students thoroughly enjoy these programs and look forward to using them in future assignments.

Thank you so much once again for all your support.”
