  • You’re the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly

    Funded Nov 1, 2017

I struggle to find words of gratitude adequate enough to convey how your generous donations will impact our classroom. Every day I have checked the website, since applying for the grant two months ago, to see if we would be lucky enough to be funded. I have watched my students struggle to hear as we work on the computers and complain that it is next to impossible to accomplish meanful tasks with technology because of our issues with sound. All the while I have silently wished that we would soon hear about funding. You have made a huge difference in our classroom and in the lives of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Moore

  • TANSTAAFL-"There Ain't No Such Thing as a Free Lunch"

    Funded Oct 20, 2014

I want to express my gratitude for your donation to our classroom. I was able to make technology a bigger part of our curriculum this year because of your donation. I saw students grow and understand math and language arts on a deeper level. I used computers as part of both our math and language arts centers each day. Students have been able to work on special programs that focus on math, reading and writing. I says a lot when you reach out to help our raising generation and provide a brighter future.”

    With gratitude,

  • To Read, Or Not To Read

    Funded Sep 24, 2013

Your donation has enriched our classroom more than words can express. Our class is very diverse and many of the students are second generation immigrants to America. That being said, one barrier that we face daily is background knowledge. It is difficult to learn about something new without having the background knowledge needed as a foundation. Your donation has made it possible to bring books into our classroom that help build background knowledge and give students the base upon which learning can be built. History has come alive to our class. Thank you for your support and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Moore

  • My Teacher 8 My Homework!

    Funded Apr 2, 2009

We absolutely love having a document camera in our classroom. It has changed so many things in our classroom. Time is not wasted on writing and re-writing things that can simply be displayed from the document camera. Now I can visually show exactly what we are working on. It helps take away some of the stress of being a teacher.

Before your donation, I spent a good deal of my instructional time writing things on the board. I would write the questions we were working on. I would draw things that were in the book. I couldn't display the actual drawing in the book or the actual worksheet without making it into a transparency. Transparencies are costly and not very feasible with how many subject we cover in a day.

The document camera allows me to display pictures in books and actual worksheets we are working on. Many of my students with learning disabilities are understanding concepts easier and quicker because they can see exactly what we are working on. I have more time to teach because I am not spending as much time writing and re-writing things on the board. Having a document camera has made a huge difference in our class. Thank you for improving our classroom! ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Moore
