  • Calming Corner Tools

    Funded Dec 15, 2023

Thank you for your generosity! These tools support skills and help students with emotional regulation. They will be so needed in the New Year as students return and readjust to the school schedule again! I appreciate your kindness and choice to support teachers and 4th grade students in Southern California!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Natter

  • Harvesting Love for Mother's Day!

    Funded May 10, 2023

The 4th-grade students had so much fun creating these special projects for Mother's Day! They harvested lavender from our garden, drying out the lavender for days in order to prepare to make the scrubs. They practiced fractions as they measured ingredients and worked together to calculate the amounts needed for each batch. They designed jar labels and gift bags before adding the final touch, a lavender sprig tied to the lid.

We received so many notes of thanks from mothers or guardians who loved their scrubs. Most importantly, the kids were so proud of their work and happy to have a gift to give to their loved ones!

Thank you for helping provide them with this memorable opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Natter

  • Stem Stations for SoCal Students

    Funded Oct 21, 2022

I was so excited to share these resources with my 4th grade students upon returning from my maternity leave! They were so excited for the hands-on activities, which they used in centers.

The geoboards and geometry activities were especially useful as a fun way to review and test-prep for the state tests. The STEM station cards were also engaging and created great opportunities for group work and collaborative conversations.

Your donation is so appreciated by our class! It is so helpful as a teacher to have resources to be able to help kids learn visually and with hands-on opportunities.”

  • Hands-On Math!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

The addition of the Hands-On Equations curriculum to my classroom has been amazing! 4th graders began professing their love of algebra after the 1st lesson! They were so excited to brag to their parents that they both enjoy and understand algebra! All of the students enjoy the hands-on aspect of this program. I invited our principal to stop in today to see our work in action. The students were elated to share their algebraic knowledge with her and to describe legal moves one can make when working with equations to keep them balanced!

My students use this independently and work collaboratively in centers during the week with these materials. My more advanced students have become 'teachers' to students who need a bit more help, which has boosted their confidence and afforded them the opportunity to practice their language and teaching skills.

We will continue to use this resource in our centers as there are many lessons to go! We will hold a math carnival later this spring and many students plan to incorporate their new knowledge into their math challenges for this event!

My class and I are very appreciative of this resource!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Natter

Hands-on math materials will allow my students to be individually challenged at their own levels. Students will be able to physically build balanced equations using the 'Hands-On Equations' set or the equation math balance. Students at all academic levels benefit from this practice and enjoy learning algebraic equations! Students learn by "doing!" It will be very helpful to have this resource to differentiate learning options for my students. Students work in centers to develop and challenge their math skills. They are especially engaged when they are able to build and create! Thank you!
