Thank you for so generously supporting our project, "Gathering Drum!" This drum is so cool! The kids absolutely love to hear the big booming sound, it literally vibrates our bodies! We use it for everyday things like counting and singing our ABCs to special occasions for singing Happy Birthday to a friend!
Each time we get out the drum, the kids know they'll all get a turn. They smile, they clap, they cheer their friends on as they wait their turn. It's a great community builder and it's just plain fun! Thanks!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Holt

We are a Kindergarten classroom made up of about 25 friends and a Title 1 aide. Our school serves diverse families, many with low incomes. We use a community approach to meet the health and education needs of our families. Communities in Schools is one community partner that helps ensure the health and safety of our classrooms. We come from diverse cultural backgrounds and we love exploring our cultures through music and social studies. We want to become great readers so listening to great stories is a big part of our day! We soak up our site words through lots of small group games and take home easy readers to practice with our families at home. Our school is also a "green" school. We're literally surrounded by native plants and wildflowers. Many of the books we love are science related. We especially love our aquatic turtle, Mo, who is also native to our area! Thanks for supporting our projects!
