  • Puzzle Power: Problem Solving With Peers

    Funded Apr 17, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our project so that we can have a designated puzzle table for our classroom. My avid puzzle workers are so excited about it and I'm also excited to be able to add new puzzles to our collection for them to work. I so appreciate your kindness here at the end of the school year and I can't wait to see my students work together at this table. Y'all are the best.”

  • First Chapter Friday Collection

    Funded May 11, 2023

We are off to a great start of our school year. So far this year, we have completed four First Chapter Friday readings. Students are LOVING the book choices and it is so wonderful to be able to offer each of my classes a chance to check out the book if they liked the first chapter. I now have an entire bookshelf stocked with First Chapter Friday books that students may check out.

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we were even able to use these books for a special "book tasting" during the second week of school. I can't thank you enough for your donation. Please know it has had such a positive effect on reading in my 6th grade classroom. Your contribution has helped spark a love of reading in my classroom and words will never be enough for that. Truly, thank you.”

  • Refresh Reading: An Updated Classroom Library!

    Funded Mar 7, 2023

Thank you so very much for donating to our project so that our classroom could have new books to read! We have greatly enjoyed having fresh books to be able to checkout and I have seen an increase in circulation in my classroom library.

This year, our school has launched a new reading initiative to encourage independent reading for pleasure. No tests, no book reports, just good old fashioned reading for fun. Thanks to your generosity, my students have way more books to choose from during their independent reading.

Books have the ability to take kids to new places and meet new people. I am so appreciative of you giving my students this opportunity.”

  • Reading Through 2022!

    Funded Apr 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom project. Thanks to you, we were able to add many new books to our classroom library. Several students have already got their hands on some of these books. After state testing, I read the Dolly Parton book to a few of my classes due to our shortened schedules.

We are also so appreciative of the extras like Jolly Ranchers, a new laminator, and document camera. We go through a lot of Jolly Ranchers in my class and the document camera will be so helpful next year for our daily lessons.

Thank you for supporting my classroom and my students. I love having books available for every type of reader and seeing students so excited about books. Your generosity is much appreciated!”

  • From Reading to Leading!

    Funded Dec 17, 2021

What an honor is it to have another DonorsChoose project funded! Our classroom is filled with books of all kind and we love consistently adding new titles to our collections. My students love Amazon boxes coming in with lots of new books to choose from and always fight tooth and nail to be the first ones to check them out. We appreciate your support in filling our bookshelves full of new and exciting books.

We are also deeply appreciative of the pencil supply. As you can imagine, pencils go VERY quickly in a middle school classroom and is one of our greatest needs for daily learning. Thank you for supplying those so that my students have a writing utensil.

We are very grateful for your kindness and it will always be remembered.”

  • Readers Are Leaders!

    Funded Sep 5, 2021

I would like to thank you so much for your generous donation in helping outfit our classroom library with new book titles. My classroom is full of a wide variety of books and I take great pride in curating titles that kids are interested in and that engage them as readers.

My students were thrilled to see Amazon boxes full of new books available to them and began checking them out immediately. A book is truly a window to a new world and I am deeply appreciative of you donating books that allow my kiddos to experience new worlds. Your kindness will be forever remembered.”

  • 1Read: Refugee Novel Study

    Funded Oct 2, 2018

Thank you so much for your donations that allowed us purchase over 100 Refugee books. This was a phenomenal book that taught so many life lessons to our students. As a result of being interested and engaged in this book, students have started reading many more books that have similar themes and are learning about the world around them as well as learning to LOVE reading.

I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and I know for sure that my students are deeply grateful. Seeing their eyes light up each time I pulled the books out for them makes my teacher heart so happy. One student even loved Refugee so much, that he bought 5 other Alan Gratz books. Your impact is so deep here at our school and we are eternally grateful.”
