Occupational Therapy Assessment Tools
Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation of occupational therapy assessment tools. Through the use of these tools we have been able to complete more thorough, comprehensive, and detailed evaluations for our occupational therapy students. The results of these assessments have helped us to create detailed goals and intervention plans that support the specific needs of each student, and have helped us to better understand each student's areas of strength and weakness. This level of understanding has already improved the quality of care we are able to provide each student, and will only continue to benefit our students for years to come. Thank you again!”

Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for your contribution to our 'Self Regulation Throughout the School Day' project. My students and I have been hard at work this year, using the tools you provided, to work on improving their self regulation skills and independence in the classroom. Using the Self Regulation program that you provided to us, we have created some extremely helpful in-class tools and strategies to use. My students are learning healthy and effective ways to manage their emotions, and strategies to promote improved alertness and attention throughout the school day. I am seeing significant improvements in my students' abilities to be self aware of their bodies throughout the day, and they are beginning to independently implement these strategies when needed. These tools and strategies will benefit my students for years to come, and will continue to help me to grow as a therapist in my ability to support them in this skill area. We cannot thank you enough for providing us with these opportunities to learn and grow!”

Funded Sep 23, 2021My students have been having a blast with all of our new occupational therapy materials! This year, we've been able to use the new materials to create some fun & challenging obstacle courses that work on multiple skills at the same time. That's a win-win for us both! We're working hard to improve our balance with the balance beam, our fine motor & handwriting skills with the Pop It, and our visual perceptual skills with Eye Spy Go Fish! The visual timer has also been a huge hit with a lot of students, and is helping us to address time management skills and overall independence in the classroom. Your support of this project has gone a long way in allowing my students to develop skills in an age-appropriate way... through play! I cannot thank you enough for support our school, our classroom, and our students.”

Funded Dec 14, 2019When our materials arrived, I laid them out in a fun and inviting set up in the front of the therapy room. My students' eyes lit up as they walked in the room and noticed all of the colorful new tools and supplies waiting for them!
My students have been so excited to use all of our new materials since returning from the holiday break. Students of all ages have benefited from the different materials in different ways. For example, my younger students have been using Playdoh, Playdoh letter stamps, pompoms, and pipe cleaners to practice learning to write their name in a multi-sensory way. Older students have been using tongs to work on developing mature pencil grasp and hand strength. All of our students have also been creating fun and engaging craft projects (ex. this week we made Penguins!) to work on scissor skills and fine motor skills.
My favorite moments since receiving these materials is seeing the older students find a love for using their imagination and creativity. I have been so pleasantly surprised by the level of excitement and engagement in my students to work on their therapy skills within the context of creativity and imagination. Thank you so much for providing my students with these opportunities.”

Therapy Room Essentials!
Funded Dec 4, 2018My students have been so excited to incorporate our new fine motor games and tools into our therapy sessions. We have been able to use these tools to help us create playful Valentines day cards, have worked on building our fine motor skills through play, and have incorporated sensory strategies in the classroom to promote improved attention and independence. The Tricky Hands game has been a favorite activity for many of my students, and on many occasions students have asked to play this game as a reward for completing therapy work... little do they know that we are still working on skills while we play! Thank you again for your generosity and for giving my students continued opportunities to learn and grow.”

A Multi-Sensory Environment for Multi-Sensory Learners!
Funded Nov 21, 2017Thank You so much for your generous donation to our occupational therapy room. Over the course of the past few months I have watched my students begin to develop a sense of enjoyment and pride when working on their handwriting skills. My students now request certain handwriting activities (that you provided!) when they come to my room, and are excited to learn new skills in a fun, engaging, and multi-sensory format. Some of the materials (special paper, adapted pencils, etc.) that were donated have been integrated into the classroom to help students carryover skills between their occupational therapy sessions and their daily classroom routines and activities. I am so excited to continue this work with my students over the course of the school year, and to see the amount of progress that they make as time goes on. Words will never be enough to express the amount of gratitude that I feel for your caring, compassion, and generosity towards these very deserving students.”

Funded May 23, 2017THANK YOU! Words cannot express the look on my students' faces as they entered the therapy room this year and saw all of the new games and activities that you so generously supplied for us. Over the first few sessions of this school year I have seen my students' level of excitement and motivation to participate in therapy begin to grow. With the help of your thoughtful and kind donations I have been able to supply my students with new and exciting ways to learn, and am already seeing them begin to make progress towards their therapy goals even though the school year has just begun. Many of my students have been commenting on how much progress they feel they are making in therapy this year, and are showing so much self pride and independence in using their newly developed fine motor abilities. I am so very excited to continue using these materials over the course of this school year, and to see my students achieve their full potential.”
