I am building my classroom library. I recently had a student bring a graphic novel of War of the Worlds. I asked how he thought of it and said, "Good so far". When he finished the book, all he could talk about was how the ending was "so awesome". That is how a book should impact someone! This made me want to search for those classics for kids to read and experience. Maybe one day in the future they will search out the original. Researching and learning about people that have influenced others is such a rewarding experience. I want to give that experience to my class. I want students to learn how to research something of interest by reading about that interest.
