  • Computer Coding In Kindergarten

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Wow! Thank you so much for your generosity! I am always looking for new ways to make learning engaging, exciting, and applicable to real life and I am beyond thrilled to receive these materials and begin using them with my students. When I went to the conference where these materials were introduced, I was so inspired and excited and I just know that my students will be excited about this, too. Thank you, thank you, thank you for donating and for helping my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

  • Happiness Is a Good Book

    Funded Oct 10, 2016

Thank you so much for your generosity. Because of your donation, my classroom now has many fun and engaging texts that my students can look at and read. I have used the books you've generously provided for whole group instruction, where we talk about different parts of the story, my students like to look at the pictures as they begin to learn to read independently, and they LOVE to read the books with their 5th grade reading buddies.

Because of your donation, my students are beginning to love to read and look at books! I will watch them on the carpet try to sound out words or they will tell their own story that goes along with the pictures. It is so fun to see them try to make sense of reading!

Thank you again for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

  • iPads For Kindergarten

    Funded Aug 25, 2016

Thank you so much for your generosity and for donating to my students so we could have I-pads. We use the I-pads every single day during independent center time and it's the students' favorite center. I have downloaded many fun, engaging, educational games that they can play and they always look forward to when it's their turn to play on the I-pads.

There are many apps available that are very appropriate for Kindergarten so the students are learning things like the alphabet, counting, addition, etc. in a fun, engaging way. I love that my students are excited about learning!

Thank you again for these wonderful tools that are being put to good use!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

  • Kindergarten Readers Need a Large Classroom Library

    Funded May 1, 2016

    Dear Donor,

Thank you so much for your generous donation. You have helped my students have exposure to many great new books. There are students in my class who wouldn't have access to such rich, engaging books had you not funded my project. As a teacher, my finances are spread thin so I appreciate the financial support of so many great people who value education.

There is no way to truly know the impact that your donation has made, but there is a kindergarten classroom in Salem, Utah that is reading fun books everyday because of you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

  • Books, Books, Books!

    Funded Oct 21, 2015

Thank you so much for the great books that you provided to me and my students. My students have loved the exposure to new, different books. As a teacher, there is nothing better than seeing the excitement that comes from a student discovering the enjoyment of reading.

The books that were donated offered didn't only offer many great teaching opportunities, but they also offered many great opportunities for students to learn life skills. One book in particular, A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park, offered my students a very raw, personal, and engaging look at what life is like for millions of people living in war torn Africa. When students are given the opportunity to engage with meaningful, inspirational books, there are worlds that are opened to them that wouldn't be otherwise.

In my classroom, students are grouped together by their reading level. Students are then assigned books that are on their level to read. As a teacher, the more selection of books I have, the more likely I am able to find them a book that they will not only read, but will enjoy. Again, I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful contribution to my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

My class is filled with 33 fun, enthusiastic 6th graders. We have a strong sense of community in our classroom where my students are eager to collaborate and work together. My classroom is one where students are welcome to be themselves as learners. Because this is their last year of elementary school, I have a goal to send all of my students on to their secondary education reading at grade level. In order to achieve my goal, I need more engaging reading materials in my classroom. I want my students to fall in love with books and to carry that love of literacy throughout their education and their life.
