My students have a lot of energy and they can not sit still for one forty minute class after another. I work in a middle school and have noticed many students would rather stand than sit. The standing workstations I am requesting will help some of my students learn more effectively. At the moment I let some students stand and use a clipboard rather than a desk. However, this is not effective because then they tend to travel around the classroom. Having these stand up desks will allow for them to be able to have a desk to lean on rather than a clipboard which they now use. They will be able to move within a limited area and hence not negatively impact other students. My students come to class each and every day wanting to engage in the learning experience. However, there are a few who find sitting an uncomfortable experience that impedes their learning. These desks will change their experience in a positive way.
