I work at a low income school for the Deaf where many students call school "home". My students are passionate learners and try their best to improve their skills every day. As all of the students are Deaf, all of the instruction is in ASL. Some students have additional impairments-- vision-- and require more support. My school is a large school that services students from all over the state. We work hard to teach our students the required material with a limited budget. As a science teacher, I am faced with a unique task-- teach Science, Math, English and American Sign Language. This is not an easy task given the limited resources and time I am given.
