Funded Mar 18, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness in funding our project. The impact has been amazing and helped contribute to the success of all the students in all areas of subject matter. (Math, Reading, Social Studies, and Science)
I know if your not in the education field how strange it must be to see yoga balls and a yoga ball chair on a teachers wish list but let me tell you about the educational impact they have had. I teach kindergarten to a very diverse population when it comes to needs, home environment, and previous school experience. We use the yoga balls at our reading table and they have actually helped kids concentrate on what they are reading as they have given them just the right amount f movement their bodies crave in order to focus on he task at hand. This is across the board for not only my children with special needs but those without. We use the yoga ball chair as an incentive for good behavior. I pull a students name from a bucket and they get to have the yoga ball for the entire day if they make good choices and do their work. It has really helped aide in classroom management. Now for the amazing part out of 18 kids I only have one child below grade level now in reading and that child has also made amazing progress. The same goes for Math. This is almost unheard of and I truly believe that the addition of the yoga balls and the help the bring to the students focus has truly aided in this success. Test scores are also up as I do allow students to use the adaptive seating when testing.
The students were beyond excited when they saw the yoga balls and chair and their excitement has yet to wear out and it's almost the end of the year!
I plan on adding more yoga balls and more types of adaptive seating now that we have seen what success the students have with it. I can't begin to express how thankful I am for your contributions to our project and the impact that you have made for years to come. I only hope that this letter can be a small token of our sincere appreciation!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Coaty
