Back to School Books and Beyond
Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for helping fund this project! I have been using the clicker and wireless mouse throughout the classroom and it has been so wonderful to manipulate my slides from any part of the room. It allows me to teach, walk around and help students in ways that I was not able to before. As a class we have read a number of the books provided--most right away as they were about the beginning of the school year! We have loved the books we have read so far and I am so excited to dive into the emotion related books in the next couple of weeks.
Thank you for being a part of our learning journey this school year!”

Funded May 3, 2022Thank you so much for helping get our community stocked and ready to be up and running. We were able to unpack all of the goods and organize them into their respective areas and some have already been donated to families! Because of you all we are able to provide our community with not only some of the essentials that they may need but also a little bit of relief and peace of mind. It is so nice to be able to see how far reaching the impact from out community pantry has been (and will continue to be over the next school year) and we couldn't have done it with out you!
Thank you for being a part of our school journey!”

Funded Dec 11, 2021Thank you so much for helping provide our classroom with materials from Teachers Pay Teachers! So far we have used a variety of math and phonics materials as centers and as activities to be printed, laminated and sent home for extra practice. These materials are easy for me to use as a teacher, wonderful resources for parents at home and engaging and clear for students to complete. We have used a lot of the materials as extensions and students have practiced multiple times both in small groups with a teacher or as partnerships--they are now starting to work on completing them independently. I am excited to be able to continue to provide a variety of hands-on activities that we can use both in the classroom and at home!
Thank you for being a part of our learning adventure!”

Funded Sep 16, 2021Thank you so much for providing these extremely exciting new choice time materials! We have been using them consistently over the last couple of weeks and it has been a blast to see what we can imagine, create and build together. We generally have used the materials during our end of the day choice time but we have also found ways to incorporate the materials throughout our academic lessons. While we have used playdoh to create different foods, people and animals in choice time we have also used it to make letters in writing, count to 20 and show a number in math. In the block center we have used the signs, people and cars to create communities, talk about cities and discuss what it means to be a good citizen. We have used the magnatiles to look at colors, to discuss how magnets work and to make a ramp for cars. We have really started to explore our materials and I can't wait to see how we use them next.
Thank you for being a part of our journey!”

Try it, Check it, Repeat -- Reusable Sleeves for Repeated Practice
Funded Feb 18, 2021The dry erase pockets that we have gotten from this project has made a world of a difference both in our classroom when we are in school and at home when we are participating in at home learning. The students were so excited to get a full set of these pockets and new dry erase markers and have bene doing their best to take good care of them, use them and learn with them.
These pockets have ben used in math to make 100 charts, number lines, number bonds and other tools to help us practice our math skills. Every math activity gets put into a pocket and can then be reused throughout the week. This allows us to practice, practice, practice without wasting paper or other materials. Each student also has one of these pouches at home which they can use for a variety of reasons when we are learning at home. With a white sheet, it becomes a whiteboard and with a paper with lines it becomes a handwriting or writing activity!
Overall, these reusable whiteboard pouches have truly enhanced our learning over the last couple of months and I can not wait to see what else we are able to accomplish with them. Thank you so much for your support—it means the world!”

Resources, Activities, Fun -- Teachers Help Teachers
Funded Dec 1, 2020Over the last couple of weeks we have been lucky enough to use a variety of materials from teachers pay teachers for whole group classwork, small group activities, homework and classroom activities. We have used these both in person and online when teaching remotely and it has fully enhanced our learning and helped me in terms of planning.
We have used virtual materials in math to help us learn how to measure using centimeters and inches, we completed some graphing activities where we organized fruit loops by color, read about different animals using nonfiction passages and have played 'would you rather' in our morning meetings. These activities have gotten our brains thinking, our bodies moving and the class smiling--what else could I ask for?
All of these activities and lessons were purchased off of teacher pay teachers thanks to your kind donations and the gift cards that we got. It has made such a difference in our classroom to have materials that are fun, engaging and different. I will continue to use these gift cards to purchase materials for us to read, write, learn and have fun! Thank you for your support and for believing in us as a class--we really appreciate it!”

Funded Sep 5, 2020Thank you so much for you help in getting white boards and whiteboard markers into our students hands. Some of these white boards were sent home for remote learning and some are being used in the classroom--but all of them are helping students engage in classroom. Whiteboards are helpful because they allow students to work without the fear of making mistakes which is extremely helpful when students feel like work is hard or they are not able to complete it independently. When remote learning, students are able to quickly write or draw their response, flip their board over to show their work over the camera and erase to get ready for the next problem or assignment. Whiteboards have been a game changer in the classroom and we are so grateful for your help in getting us here!”

Funded May 7, 2020Thank you so much for allowing me to provide all of my students with building bricks for them to use at home. Throughout the year, when we were in school, students had access to legos and absolutely loved building with them. In March, when we were all home, one of the most missed parts of being in school was being able to play and build with our classmates. This project might not have let us be all together in person but it did allow us to play and create together over zoom and with our families!
These materials were hand delivered with other materials and the students were so excited to get legos to build with at home! Students were sent home with sets of "STEM Challenges"--picture cards with monuments from around the world for them to build--and got to building right away! We had "playdates" on Zoom and students were able to hang out with their friends and build, it was a blast!
Thank you so much for making these challenging times just a little bit sweeter for our class. Your impact reaches further than you realize--it means a lot.”

Funded Jul 11, 2020Thank you so much for allowing us to meet new characters, go on different adventures, learn about important people and grow as a classroom community with these books. These books were first used virtually, through read alouds on Zoom and recordings of me directly reading them the book and now are being used during live classes and with students in the school building. Our students have the option of being fully remote or coming to school 2/3 days a week. Because of this set up, these books have reached students across different grades and different settings (online and in person). It has been so great to have students light up when they get to see and read these new books. Thank you for ensuring my students get the resources and books that they deserve. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!”

Funded Feb 13, 2020These STEM and building materials have been a BLAST in our classroom! The straws and legos have been a huge hit and students have learned how to work together, plan what they are making and execute their plans. The straws have allowed students to think outside of the box and build huge structures together. Over the last couple of weeks we have learned different ways to use the straws and continue to add on to the knowledge of how he can use them. Our students have created whole scenes and stories with the legos and love having the platforms, plants, animals, peoples and cars to add to what they are creating.
We are going to continue working with these materials on a daily basis and I can only imagine the types of things we continue to build in the weeks to come!”
