  • Exciting Spanish Books for Our Bilingual Classroom Library

    Funded Dec 19, 2024

These books have been so impactful for my students. Thank you so much for making it possible for my students to have access to more highly engaging books in Spanish.

I teach 4th graders in a dual immersion Spanish program. For my students whose first language is Spanish, these books satisfy their desire to read books in their home language. For those students who are learning Spanish as a second language, the Spanish graphic novels in this collection provide them with rich language and support from the illustrations--it's a perfect match.

Thank you so much for your generosity and thoughtfulness. My students and I are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Solis

  • A Book a Day: Read Alouds That Build Our Community

    Funded Dec 12, 2024

Our daily read aloud is so essential to our classroom community. It grounds us and inspires us for the day ahead. Thank you for providing us with the resources we need to maintain this essential element and to make it vibrant, and surprising and meaningful and fun. There is such a balance between contemporary and timeless in the books we received--they fulfill so many different needs--windows and mirrors to the experiences of my students, full-on belly laughs on Friday mornings and exciting, scientific thinking. These last couple of months we have needed a lot of funny and inspiring books--and the books in this project fulfilled that need. We particularly enjoyed "Pocket Puppies" and "Mr. Fox's Game of No"--so many new classics in this bunch of books. Thank you for making this happen!

Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for believing in my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Solis

  • Picture Books to Build Strong, Resilient Classroom Community

    Funded Dec 9, 2024

Our daily read aloud is so essential to our classroom community. It grounds us and inspires us for the day ahead. Thank you for providing us with the resources we need to maintain this essential element and to make it vibrant, and surprising and meaningful and fun. There is such a balance between contemporary and timeless in the books we received--they fulfill so many different needs--windows and mirrors to the experiences of my students and full-on belly laughs on Friday mornings. We recently read "A Mouse with a House on His Back," it was lovely and homey and taught us the value of welcoming people into our spaces and that sharing really is caring. It is a wonderful book.

Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for believing in my students.”

  • Healthy Snacks for Healthy Students: Financial Edition

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

My students work so hard in school. They love the challenges and joys that come with all our hard work. And they really love their snacks. Popcorn, applesauce, fruit leathers and Pirate's Booty--snacks are a part of their daily routines and expectations. I'm so grateful to be able to provide my students with this food--it fills their bellies, focuses their minds and brings them joy. Thank you for making this possible and thank you for your incredible generosity--without you this would not be possible.”

  • Coolest Homework Ever: Science Experiments at Home

    Funded Feb 21, 2025

Yay! I am so excited for this project! Thank you so much for making this possible. My students are going to love bringing these projects home for their homework and to complete them with their families and I will be thrilled to give them this opportunity. This only happened with your help. Thank you!”

  • Non-Fiction Books to Spark Our Interests

    Funded Dec 26, 2024

You are AMAZING! Two weeks ago we opened the boxes together. There were many gasps and cheers as I pulled out the huge dinosaur books (these books were a particular request from a student who claimed that I did not have enough dinosaur books in our classroom library--assignment understood!). The cookbooks and FACTopia books were also a big hit. There were so many students hopeful to read a book first--almost all of my students saw a book in the boxes that interested them. Now that the books are on our shelves, they have been devoured by my students.

Thank you for your incredible generosity. My students have benefitted so much from the addition of these books to our shelves. Thank you for making that possible. Thank you for providing the materials we need to be excited about reading. Thank you for believing in my students!”

  • Engaging Graphic Novels for Amazing 4th Grade Readers

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

Thank you for this incredible gift of books and pictures and experiences for my students. My students love reading, and above all they love reading graphic novels. It takes a lot of books to fan the flames of excitement for books and I am so grateful that my students have these new books to stay excited for reading.

Because of your support for our classroom library, my students have access to graphic novels with diverse protagonists. Having diverse books in our classroom library is vital to me and my students. There are so many good books in this project and my students are particularly excited about the Bunny vs Monkey series--my students really love reading series.

    We love these books!

Thank you so much for making this possible.”

  • Books to Make Us Fall in Love With Reading

    Funded Dec 26, 2024

Thank you for this incredible gift of books and pictures and experiences for my students. My students love reading, and above all they love reading graphic novels. It takes a lot of books to fan the flames of excitement for books and I am so grateful that my students have these new books to stay excited for reading.

When we opened our boxes of new books, you could hear gasps amongst my students. "Whoa!" "Teacher, can I read that one?" "That's the one I want to read." It was a thrill as much for me as it was for them. I love that my students love to read, and it's because of having access to amazing books like the ones you sent us.

Thank you so much for making this possible.”

  • Inspiring 4th Grade Creativity Through Our Classroom Economy

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

My students are so creative and inquisitive and bright and friendly. They are the dentists, artists and senators of the future.

The sticker books are a big hit with my students! It is so satisfying. I am so grateful that they have something to keep their attention while we are doing our "banking." We've also started our new business--rubber band bracelets--and it's been a total success. We're still rolling out selling the bracelets, but the kids and other teachers have been so enthusiastic. I'm thrilled.

Thank you for helping us build our classroom community even stronger. Thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness.”

  • Stickers, Books and Rubber Bands: Building Financial Understanding Early

    Funded Nov 12, 2024

My students are so creative and inquisitive and bright and friendly. They are the dentists, artists and senators of the future.

I also know that part of what makes school so joyful and intentional are art and STEM projects--activities that bring us together and have a purpose behind them. This project has so many projects that will fit that need. Because of this generous community, we will have engaging and thoughtful activities that bring us together as a class. On Friday we dove into one of the activities: painting our own wooden magnets for our lockers. My students were very enthusiastic! They loved being able to pick out their magnet and they proudly displayed them on their lockers after they finished. It was a great way to end our week!

Thank you for helping us build our classroom community even stronger. Thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness.”
