Technology for Kindergarteners!
Funded Jan 1, 2018Technology is everywhere. In this era, students need technology to prepare them for their future careers. Technology is helping my students learn daily. With your donation of the chromebooks, my students are learning daily in a fun environment. They are learning computers skills, letters, numbers, reading and integrated subjects. My kindergarteners are also learning at a young age how to develop their digital citizenship skills.
The chromebooks are exciting for my students. My visual learners are able to see the technology on the chromebooks and it helps them learn their core subjects. My kinesthetic learners are touching the keyboard and mouse to move around in the computer. My auditory learners are getting help in reading and pronunciation when listening to stories on the chromebooks. All my students are reading and they are excited to use the chromebooks to log onto Raz-Kids to read stories.
I would say all of my students have warmed to this new technology because so many do not have a computer at home. At school, my students are able to learn using technology. My goal was to provide technology in the classroom for all students, and with your generous donation, I have accomplished that goal. Thank you!”

Igniting Movement!
Funded Dec 30, 2017Movement allows children to connect concepts to action and it helps them learn. With your donation my kindergarteners are learning with movement because it is easier for them to understand difficult concepts, to pay attention and to be successful in school. The speaker system and wired and wireless microphone for music help my students learn in a fun atmosphere and creates a meaningful experience in kindergarten. Students in this era use technology daily, with the speaker I can ignite my kindergarteners' movements and imagination.
My kindergarteners are excited to use the speaker and microphones because it is fun. They have the opportunity to use the speaker as a tool during physical education by playing songs that guide them into physical activities. My kindergarteners are also excited to use during our writers workshop sharing. They enjoy reading their books and projecting their voices using the microphones.
I would definitely say all my students have warmed to these new materials because they are constantly asking if they will be able to use the speaker and mircrophones for their next activity. My goal was to guide my students to communicate through movement in school, and thanks to your generous donation, I have accomplished my goal. Thank you!”

Mathematics Make Your Life Add Up!
Funded Feb 9, 2017My students are using the Math Learning Centers as part of their daily activities during Math Workshop. My students have been able to use the new resources to understand numbers, equations, computations, and algorithms in a small group setting. A moment I can share is in a center where we have the ladybug addition, my students are very excited when they are in that center because they get to use objects that look real to make a number sentence with their partner. One partner spins one side, and the other partner spins the other side. Together the make the number sentence using the numbers provided with the game, then they both write their number sentence on a piece of paper. I can really see the excitement on my students' faces while working together and helping each other.
When my students first saw the materials, they were very excited. I introduced one center per day. At the beginning of each day they were eager to have Math Workshop to learn a new center. Now that all centers have been introduced, they continue to be excited to do centers because they are able to play the games, not really realizing that its helping them improve in their math skills, they just think if a super fun game.
My next steps for my students are to continue centers during Math Workshop because these resources are perfect for them as it reinforces the early math skills learned in kindergarten. My students will continue to use these materials to match objects, make patterns, estimate, add and subtract objects to improve and master their math skills.
Thank you for supporting my students' learning through your generous donation!”

I Can Listen to Stories
Funded Mar 9, 2016Dear Donors,
On behalf of my students, thank you for supporting "I Can Listen to Stories." With your generous donation, my students are now able to use technology to read stories, which ensures every student in my class the use of the listening center to improve literacy. My students are active and enjoy exploring. The listening center is technology in which my students visit daily and read books and/or listen to stories.
This new product in our classroom is exciting to my students because it is a center in which students can listen to audiobooks. The audiobooks introduce students to books at their level and above their reading level. The audiobooks model good interpretive reading, teach critical listening, and they are introduced to a variety of genres. My students are very excited to choose from a variety of audiobooks from rhyming songs, classic stories, to folktales.
Some of my students have warmed to this new technology. The use of the listening center has them excited that they go home and discuss with their parents their use of the listening center. The parents and children are eager to use the technology where ever they can. The students are very excited and warmed up to this technology that they are eager to have more audiobooks for the listening center. Luckily, I have scholastic to help me purchase audiobooks for my listening center.”
