Games Make Math FUN!
Funded Mar 13, 2019Thank you so much for contributing to my project! My students love playing games. They don't even realize they are practicing their math skills. I love using centers/rotations in my classroom. This is a great way for students to practice their basic math skills with others.
My students also love getting some cards when they are pre-assigned from another class when they have nothing to do or if they finish early in my class. This can be played so many ways.
My students could not wait to try out the new games! Since there are different difficulties, even some of my struggling students feel confident because they are able to do it.
This game can be played for several years to come. The directions are simple and they are no game pieces to keep up with.”

From Coal Mines to Robotics
Funded Mar 29, 2016First of all I want to say THANK YOU! I have several students who say they LOVE math now! They look forward to coming to class because they have seen how math can be exciting. Before we received LittleBits they groaned when they entered the classroom and missed school a lot. I have had students from other classes beg to be in my room when we use LittleBits.
My students started using the step by step instructions but quickly learned they were easy to use and couldn't mess them up. They would create new ideas and want to show them off around the school. As the were showing other teachers and administrators their creations it intrigued other students. Now they know there is more for me to do in life than just working in the mines and fast food.
I have heard some they want to be different types of engineers when they get older. That is completely different from what they use to say. Many would say that hated school and wanted to quit.
Without donors like you my students would have never gotten to experience working with circuits and seeing beyond a math book!”

Funded Jan 22, 2010Thank you again so much for your generous donation. My students love using these "games" during their center time. They are learning while having fun and that means so much. They also love sharing the VersaTiles with the other second grade students. They even use them during recess because they do not consider it to be work.
Our school does not receive much help financially and with your donation my students have learned how people can help others without even knowing them. Thank you again. ”

Funded Mar 27, 2009Thank you so much for funding our mp3 player. This device has impacted my students greatly. It is so easy to use all of my students are able to use it on their own, even my students with disabilities. My students' reading grades have gone up since they have been using this technology.
My students enjoy listening to their reading story and following along. The phonics songs are also available for them to listen and follow along. Before the mp3 player they could only listen to cassette tapes with older stories. The students enjoy this more because the stories are newer and it is easier to use.
Thank you again for funding this project. It is greatly appreciated by the entire class. My students are also amazed how someone funded this technology for us that didn't even know us. They have also learned how helping people is important.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bever
