Safety in Second Grade
Funded Jul 31, 2024Thank you for your generous donation to my project. My second grade students love the supplies because they are able to get them independently.
Starting on the first day of school, I set up a station in my classroom called "Healthy Living Station." This station has a basket of band-aids, facial tissue, wipes, and paper towels. Any time a student needs supplies to clean up a mess or help another student clean up, they can go on their own to get the paper towels. Also, if a student needs a band-aid, they go on their own. This is a project that will continue to be implemented throughout this school year.”

Strong Finish!
Funded Apr 17, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation and support for my classroom! The items have been a great help with organization and student independence. As we finished strong, my students are having a great end to our school year.
When the items arrived, my students were so excited to open the packages and see what was inside! They enjoyed seeing what new items they will be using.
My students are using the photo cases for task cards that are aligned to grade level standards or their IEP goals. My students are able to choose the case independently and initiate the task on their own. My classroom has become a calm learning environment.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom! Your donation helped my students receive calculators. Although a simple classroom tool, it makes a big impact for our daily routines! We have used the calculators daily since they arrived. My students use them for math facts for all 4 operations, adding money amounts to find totals, determining change, and their grade level math skills like square roots, volume, integers, and slope.
My students have increased their independence because they have access to the calculators.
All of my students have enjoyed using the calculators, daily.
Your donation will help my current students and many years of future students!”

Funded May 6, 2022Thank you again for your donations to support my project! My 5 students and I are enjoying reading the books about social and emotional learning. Since the beginning of the school year, we have focused on the topic of perseverance. My students have used the word almost everyday to push through hard times to be successful on their academic skills. The corresponding activity book has been fun, too! We use the interactive lessons to reinforce the SEL skills.
Every Monday at my school, we focus on social and emotional learning for all students. Due to my students' learning abilities, the books provide kid-friendly language and it allows them to grasp the topics. They are enjoying reading and learning! I am enjoying reading, teaching, and learning, too!”

Funded Oct 19, 2021Thank you for taking the time to view my project and donate to my students! My students and I are having so much fun using the project items while learning. We are practicing literacy and math skills while showing positive social skills. The Osmo items shocked my students! They are so cool to use in our classroom. My students enjoy sitting on the Trideer seat cushions while we work. Also, the pop it items have been used for literacy skills, math skills, rewards, and used for calming down strategies. We are so excited to continue using the items and to be able to unlock games on Osmo!”

Funded Oct 22, 2020As many of you are aware, remote learning and instruction was a difficult transition for many. With your donation of these materials, I can take my classroom anywhere! The white board markers and magnetic white board are used everyday in my classroom. I use them with my students for reading skills, picture word matching, and math skills! The materials make it easy to share with my students to keep them engaged.
My students love the new books that were donated for our classroom library! My one students loves the "Bear" series and he gets so happy every time we read them. We use the books to find sight words, answer comprehension questions, and read sentences. His reading skills have soared in the remote learning environment, thanks to your donation!
Your donations have made my daily classroom routines easy in this environment.”

Funded Dec 16, 2019Thanks to all of YOU, my students and I have been busy! We are using the donated resources to cook every other week. The cookbook I use with my students shows step-by-step directions using pictures. We have made smores, cupcake in a mug, potatoes and gravy, and hot pockets. All in the microwave!
My students were so excited to get all the materials. One of my students even built the microwave/prep cart immediately for us to use! These materials have given my students more opportunities to work together and practice social skills.
I am very excited to continue cooking with my students. Next up, Italian Casserole!”

Funded Aug 14, 2019First and foremost, thank you so much for your donations! The supplies that were donated helped my students, paraprofessionals, and I start our school year off on the right foot! Since the materials arrived at the beginning of the school year, my students were eager to open up the boxes and see what was inside. There faces lit up! Especially at the bulletin board boaders. Our classroom has become a lot more colorful.
One of the resources that has come in handy, is the comb binding machine. I made a booklet that my students have been using to learn grammar strategies. Also, the booklet allows my students to use their communication and vocabulary skills. The machine allows for the booklet to be in one place and used (loved) many times over.
We will continue to use the resources you dontaed throughout this scjool year and many more to come. You all have helepd us become organized and social with one another.”

Funded Nov 26, 2018First of all, thank you very much for your donation of the books and reading resources for my classroom! My students were very excited when the package arrived! The Scholastic Story Works magazines and picture books have already helped my students learn new skills and learn new information! The Story Works magazines are used during social studies lessons. My students are learning the importance of text-features, answering critical thinking questions, and finding information in the text. The short paragraphs give my students confidence to read non-fiction. The picture books have allowed my students to make connections to the story because they are engaged in the topics. They have even written their own stories using the picture books as models!
Reading in my classroom is a busy and fun time! All of my students enjoy reading and love to listen to stories. We read all different kinds of books: novels, picture books, poems, and graphic novels. I use a variety of books because my students all read on different levels. Although I teach middle school aged students, their reading levels range from grade 1 to grade 4. The picture books you donated allow my students to meet grade level standards using accommodations to the curriculum.
All of my students have a chance in the daily classroom routine to read independently. Adding the picture books to my classroom library has allowed my students to enjoy the new books and have access to books with meaning. I can't wait to see how their reading and writing grows!”
