Cardboard boxes have entertained kids of all ages for years. However, when it comes to building with them, you need duct tape and a lot of it. Sometimes, duct tape doesn’t even do the trick to hold cardboard buildings or pieces together. My students will be able to transform cardboard boxes easily into airplanes, buildings, creatures and much more with Makedo and Mr. McGroovy's Rivets. These plastic pieces are reusable and will last for several years, reducing my annual supply cost for STEM class. Using their imaginations, my students will create 3-D illustrations to retell the story "Not a Box" by Antoinette Portis. They will not be held back by simplicity. Instead, the sky will be the limit. If they can imagine it, then they can build it using cardboard, Makedo, and Mr. McGroovy's Rivets.
