My kindergarten students are an energetic bunch! They truly enjoy school, love learning that involves anything interactive or visual. They get along very well with each other and each one is always willing to help their teacher out when she needs it! There is a broad range of ability in my room, students that are very advanced and some that are still learning their basic phonics. Our school is located in a highly diverse area that's largely Armenian. About 65% are English Language Learners, which can prove even more difficult than a Spanish speaking student as the Armenian language doesn't transfer easily to English like Spanish does. This offers a great challenge to our Kindergarten staff to not only teach them how to read and write, but to become fluent in English. Our school is a wonderful little gem up in a great neighborhood with an amazing new principal who is looking to move this school forward to new heights!
