While I understand the importance of learning from home, We have a variety of technology platforms that can aid our online learning and teaching. Nevertheless, it is inevitable that our students will be back in the school building eventually (hopefully sooner than later) and will need to re-adjust to small and whole group instruction, discussions, collaboration, etc. I have always fully supported collaborative work, and understand how important it is to guide our students and children in the direction to be incredible thinkers, articulate and informative speakers and listeners, persuasive and factual writers, and allow them to be the great individuals whom will help make our future a better place. I teach in a Title 1 school, and a lot of students arrive unprepared, or tend to lose or break materials by the end of the week, month, year, etc. I would love to use many of the objects for DIY projects for the classroom to help engage, differentiate and scaffold for my students in a variety of ways. I have a plan for each student to get visuals attached to their desk/folders (helpful for visual learners, students with disabilities, or even my students learning a new language). As well as allow for autonomy and accountability in the classroom. I also picked a variety of objects that can be used to add engagement and fun to group activities to deepen their understanding. Furthermore, I plan on being prepared to give any and all student the materials and supplies they may need on a daily basis to be successful.I know that Social and Emotional learning is HUGE as well and I am excited to provide a space for "Rest and Relaxation", as well as many positive or helpful tools for distractions.
