  • Save Trees ... Use Whiteboards

    Funded Aug 16, 2019

Thanks again for your generous donations! My students were very excited to receive the white boards and markers.

Our new white boards and markers are used frequently in the classroom. My students are currently working on writing their own name independently. The white boards allow for daily practice without wasting paper.

The white boards are used for both whole group instruction and small group differentiated instruction. The availability of the white boards makes pulling a small group of kids for extra practice without the need for copies and paper.

Thanks again for your kindness and support.”

  • Never Too Young For Technology ...

    Funded Mar 8, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Our new Apple TV has been a great addition to the classroom. The Apple TV allows me to easily project educational videos and websites.

The kids favorite videos are the exercise and movement activities we can project from Go Noodle. Many of these videos are just a few minutes long and they provide a much needed "wiggle break" for my 4 year old students.

Also, I can easily project pictures to help with vocabulary development. This is especially valuable for the students who are learning English as their second language.

Thanks again for your kindness and support!”

  • We Want to Learn About Animals in the Wild ...

    Funded Sep 16, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Your donation made it possible for a volunteer from the Star Eco Station to visit our classroom with several rescued wild animals. The children learned about snakes, tarantulas, tortoises, hissing cockroaches and a type of dragon, They thoroughly enjoyed touching the animals and the volunteer happily answered all of their questions. The volunteer emphasized the importance of treating animals kindly and choosing pets responsibly. This experience will help the kids develop appreciation for all animals.”

  • Not Too Young To Learn About STEM...

    Funded Sep 5, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation! The tablets we received are used by students daily in the classroom as part of our center time. This is very important as we have limited access to technology at our school and some kids do not have tablets or computers at home. The children love the easy access to online books, educational videos, and games. Kids enjoy the tablets independently and in a small group.

Donations from kind people like you help to enrich the education of all of our students. Please know that you are truly appreciated!”

  • Please Help, Our Sand Table Is Empty ...

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My Expanded Transitional Kindergarten students spend about 2 hours outside each day. The sand table has been a wonderful addition to their outside play and is currently one of their favorite activities. They love digging and building in the sand with their friends. The sand that they are used to playing in is the sand from the beach so they are thrilled with the texture of the kinetic sand. Thoughtful and generous donors like yourselves really help to improve the educational experiences of kids!”

  • When I grow up, I will be a ...

    Funded Feb 14, 2018

In a classroom of 4 and 5 years, the development of language and social skills is extremely important. The dramatic play area in our classroom gives kids the opportunity to develop and practice these skills and behaviors. This area has always been a popular area in our classroom. Your generous donation of new costumes and props, has made it even more popular. Children love to dress up as the vet and "treat" the stuffed animals. They also love to dress as a chef and serve food to the other kids and the adults in the classroom. Thanks again for your kindness!”

  • Watch Our Garden Grow . . .

    Funded Oct 25, 2017

At the beginning of the school year, we planted a vegetable garden in our play yard. The garden has given us many opportunities to learn about responsibility, nutrition, and where our food comes from. We have made several salads and the kids have tried vegetables they had not had before.

We are lucky to live in a climate that allows us to grow vegetables year round. Your generous donation of soil and watering cans has made our year-round garden possible.

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trickett

  • We Need a Garden!

    Funded Sep 8, 2017

Thank you all so much for your generous donations! Volunteers assembled the planters and our garden has been planted. Our pumpkin vines are getting quite large and we have peas, radishes, and lettuce beginning to sprout.

Each day, a group of students go outside to observe and water our class garden. Students from other classrooms are also very interested in watching our garden grow.

Your kindness and generosity have made it possible for 18 four year-olds to participate in the wonderful world go gardening.”

    With gratitude,

  • Our Tablet Center Needs An Upgrade ...

    Funded Aug 22, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The headphones and splitters make our 3 classroom tablets much more accessible for students. Kids can work in a group to complete educational games, read an e-book, or watch a video.

More access to technology help students access additional curricular resources. At the same time, they are developing technological skills that they will need later in elementary school and beyond.

The use of e-books and educational apps helps me differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of all students.

    Thanks again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

  • Books! Books! Books!

    Funded Mar 1, 2017

Thank you so much! It was amazing to see the excitement on my students' faces when they saw the new books. They were SO excited! They are big fans of Piggie and Elephant and Fly Guy ... they were really happy to see that the classroom library had more choices for them. They have been reading them alone and with friends. They ask me to read the books to them, even though they can read them independently. We are all so appreciative of your kindness and generosity! It is people like you that that make all the difference for our students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trickett
