Technology!
Funded Aug 15, 2018Thank you for donating to our projects and allowing us to receive these two Chromebooks they are very useful in our class. We are able to use of Chromebooks to work on assignments and projects in class. We were also able to set up google classroom which has been a huge help to us as students.
The most exciting thing about getting these Chromebooks for our class is that we are able to access a lot of different information at the tips of fingers. We are also able to look up current information as it relates to biology rather than just using out textbooks. Having this technology in our classroom is also very exciting because we are able to keep up with the times and learn how to create different projects and complete different work using technology which is a skill we will need when we go out into the work force.
Once we got our Chromebooks we were working on a cell cycle unit. Since having our Chromebooks we were able to do a lot of interactive activities on the Chromebooks looking at the process of mitosis rather than just look at pictures in the textbook. We have also been able to look up different information and information we are able to understand better than whats in the textbook. In the future we plan on creating pretensions and working collaboratively on projects with each other and presenting it to the class.”

Ms. Vasquez

High School Science Sucess
Funded Apr 25, 2016One of the items that I received through my project was a projector. This has greatly improved my classroom atmosphere and has allowed my students to gain a deeper understanding about certain topics we cover in class. I am now able to projects videos and images onto the screen which is great for my visual learners. I am now also able to present lessons in a more interactive way. Such as using PowerPoint and online articles. I also received an interactive periodic table.
The interactive periodic table has to be my students favorite technology that we got through this project. This periodic table allows students to use an app on their phones or ipad. Once logged into this app and when it it pointed at the periodic table it becomes 3-D. Students are also able to click on all the elements and get an explanation of what each is and what is looks like. Students are also able to create different bonds by pairing up the elements.”
