School Supplies = Successful Scholars!
Funded May 24, 2024On behalf of my students and myself, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of school supplies. Your kindness has made an incredible difference in our classroom. The impact is already being felt, as each student now has the tools they need to fully engage in their learning.
Your contribution has not only lightened the financial load for many families but also filled our classroom with a renewed sense of excitement and possibility. The students feel more confident and eager to participate, knowing they are well-equipped to succeed. As their teacher, I am deeply moved by your generosity, as it allows me to focus on providing enriching experiences without the worry of missing materials.
Though we may never meet, please know that your kindness has made a lasting impression on all of us. You have touched the lives of these young learners in a way that words can hardly express, and for that, we are truly grateful.”

Funded Mar 8, 2024On behalf of everyone here at MS 45, I wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donation of chess boards to our classroom. Your kindness and support mean the world to us, and we are truly humbled by your generosity.
The impact of your donation is already being felt in profound ways. The addition of these chess boards has not only enriched our classroom environment but has also opened up a world of possibilities for our students. Chess is more than just a game; it is a powerful educational tool that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and strategic planning. Your donation has provided our students with the opportunity to develop these skills in a fun and engaging way.
Beyond the academic benefits, the chess boards have also promoted teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among our students. It's incredible to see how they have come together to learn and play, supporting and encouraging each other every step of the way. Your donation has helped create a positive and inclusive atmosphere in our classroom, where every student feels valued and supported.
We are truly grateful for your commitment to education and your belief in the potential of our students. Your generosity has made a tangible difference in their lives, and we cannot thank you enough for your kindness and support.”

Funded Feb 7, 2024I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for introducing graphing calculators into our math classroom. These devices have truly revolutionized the way we engage with mathematical concepts. Firstly, graphing calculators allow us to visualize graphs and equations in real-time, making abstract ideas more tangible and accessible. This visual representation not only enhances our understanding but also fosters a deeper connection to the material.
Moreover, the technology embedded in these calculators enables us to explore mathematical concepts dynamically. From graphing functions to analyzing data, the calculators empower us to experiment and investigate mathematical principles in a hands-on manner. This interactive approach not only promotes active learning but also cultivates problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
Lastly, the most exciting aspect of graphing calculators for us as students is the versatility they offer. Whether it's solving equations, creating graphs, or even programming custom functions, the possibilities seem endless. The ability to customize our learning experience and explore mathematical concepts in unique ways ignites our curiosity and passion for mathematics.
Thank you once again for providing us with this invaluable tool that has transformed our math education.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Cleary
Printing Press
Funded Jan 30, 2024Having a high-speed color printer in a math classroom can significantly enhance the learning experience for both teachers and students. In my classroom the impact is enormous.
It allows for vibrant visual aids. These colorful visual aids and graphs can make abstract mathematical concepts more tangible and easier to understand. I can create visually engaging materials that highlight key points, making it easier for students to grasp complex ideas. I am able to design interactive worksheets with colorful diagrams and illustrations. This not only makes the learning process more enjoyable but also encourages active participation and engagement from students. There are real-world applications as well. Printing real-world examples and applications of mathematical concepts in color helps students connect theoretical knowledge with practical scenarios. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of how math is used in various fields and industries. Color-coded materials can be used to differentiate between different types of information, equations, or steps in problem-solving. This visual distinction aids students in organizing and comprehending mathematical concepts more effectively. Students can showcase their understanding of mathematical concepts through colorful projects and presentations. This allows for creative expression, fostering a positive and innovative learning environment.
For visual learners, color can be a crucial element in comprehension. Having access to a high-speed color printer accommodates different learning styles and ensures that visual learners can fully grasp mathematical concepts. I can produce professional-quality materials for presentations and demonstrations. This not only elevates the overall quality of educational resources but also instills a sense of pride in the learning environment.
In summary, this high-speed color printer in my math classroom goes beyond the basic function of printing. It has become a tool for creativity, engagement, and improved understanding, ultimately contributing to a more dynamic and effective learning atmosphere.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for your donation. It has made an immeasurable impact on our students already. The classroom technology was getting old and outdated and this upgrade has made it possible to once again bring learning alive.
I am able to import the e-version of the textbook onto the iPad and project it onto the screen. I am able to screen share and walk around the room while I teach. I can see students work in real time and share their work with the classroom. Students are able to use the iPad to present their work and share their critical thinking with other students. It has brought presentations and projects to life. Lesson planning is more thorough and complete and the students are gaining a lasting impact.
The most exciting part for students was the ability to bring their projects or work to life in real time. Seeing what they are doing and being able to share it with others is so valuable. The students get impactful feedback in which they are then able to go make adjustments in real time. Thank you once again!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Cleary

Funded Nov 19, 2015First off I just want to send a big thank you to ConEdison & PwC. Without their support this project would not have been funded. We were lucky enough to receive two new laptop computers, two new Ipads, and one new laser-color printer. They have been in the classroom and are already making a big difference. The laptops run smoothly and fast. They enable students to use applications online. Going online enables students to see multiple ways of solving problems. Ideas and visual representations they might have never seen are now at their fingertips. The laptops help students to become less frustrated and more motivated. They are pushed towards higher achievement and the learning can become more differentiated. Students with different ability levels can work on problems that push them towards becoming better students instead of just giving up on a worksheet because they didn't understand it. Students are able to go online and solve real world problems. The Ipads allow for students to use math oriented applications. These applications are student specific, feature vivid colors, are very engaging, and student friendly. The laser-color printer has allowed the classroom to come alive. Student work has been printed, math friendly posters have gone up around the room, and students get excited to see their work in a color format.
The thing that I would say is most exciting to my students are the Ipads. The Ipads have a sleek, intuitive design and this allows for so much engagement. Our students are growing up in a technology friendly world and therefore they must be able to circumnavigate applications and online learning. The Ipads allow them to do this. There are guiding videos, interactive demonstrations, differentiated learning activities, and tools that enable them to do real world problems. They learn how to seamlessly transition from one problem to the other. They learn how to work independently. The Ipads have helped to foster an environment where students want to learn instead of just having to learn.
There are absolutely two students who have benefited most from the Ipads. They are my two students who are new to the country and still learning the English language. The Ipads help these students by providing pictures, teaching some of the strategies in their native language, and giving constant guides on how to do the problems. A couple of months ago these students dreaded coming to math. So much of what we do is task oriented. This means that students have to know how to read and interpret the problem and not just solve it. Now, instead of dreading coming to math they get excited. They know the problems will be on their level, they will be able to work through and solve the problems, and will be gaining a valuable insight into the math process.
The new technology has allowed the students and the classroom to blossom in color and excitement. Students want to use the computers, they want to search and understand math, they want to use the applications on the IPad. I have seen shy and timid students transform almost overnight. Without your kindness and generosity none of this would have been possible. Here at 131, we send our most sincere thanks!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Cleary
