What can I say about my students? I love them! I teach an active group of 3rd grade students. My class consists of 22 students, 7 are English Language Learners, 4 struggle with academic learning, and 5 have challenging classroom behaviors. Needless to say it can be a challenge to keep them all in their seats and focused on learning.
I teach at a Title 1 school. Over 50% of the students come from families that live in poverty. Parents care deeply about the education of their children. However, often they don't have the education or knowledge to help their child learn, or both parents work long hours to provide food and shelter.
I believe in my students! I see the potential in them to grow up to be contributing citizens. I have a passion and believe that education is the key to unlock the poverty cycle. That is why I continue to seek resources that will help my students take advantage and succeed in school.
