A Classroom in Need
Funded Mar 3, 2020Students were thrilled to explore new materials and seamlessly integrated them into our learning activities. As a result, they are now fully engaged in their educational experience. The classroom buzzes with excitement as students collaborate on projects, share ideas, and support one another in creative endeavors. Teachers have noticed a significant increase in participation and enthusiasm, with students often taking the initiative to delve deeper into subjects that spark their curiosity. This newfound passion for learning has fostered a vibrant community where everyone is encouraged to contribute their unique talents and perspectives.
Furthermore, the integration of diverse materials has also enhanced critical thinking skills, as students are challenged to analyze, synthesize, and apply information in novel ways. This dynamic approach to education not only prepares them for academic success but also equips them with the skills needed to navigate and excel in an ever-evolving world. The joy of discovery and the satisfaction of mastering complex concepts have become the hallmark of their educational journey, paving the way for lifelong learning and personal growth.”

Driving into Become Great Readers
Funded Mar 21, 2018When working with my low level students I use the book and materials to introduce comprehension questions such as story elements and characters traits. With the materials the students were able to work with vocabulary concepts like context clues, synonyms and antonyms, and prefixes and suffixes. Many of my student loved their headphones because they were finally able to listen to their programs such as I-Station and Achieve3000.
My students and I needed to be engaged in a high quality book that would introduce them to skills they would need for the next grade level. We also use the books as a breather from STAAR testing strategies and pressure to make mastery. As soon as my student walk in we have a 10 minutes of silent reading and 5 minutes of discussion about what we have read and what we like about the book. Alexis loved the book of the One and Only Ivan. She enjoyed reading it. I allowed my students to take them home during the summer with some reading packet. She didn't want to let it unfinished.
And because of your generous donation my class was able to exceed expectations on the reading program the school. My third graders were on top of the 4th and 5th grade classes combined.”
