Students in my 5th grade class are natural inquirers. We have several question, inquiry, and "ah-ha!" stations set-up throughout the classroom for them to inquire on specific topics taught in our units of study and beyond. These students have been educated in the International Baccalaureate, inquiry-based program. They are more aware of the world around them, and often challenge ideas, concepts, and actions they research within events around the world. The school in which these students were educated is an extremely successful model for charter schools, being in the top 10% of charter schools in the entire state. The teachers are determined to give scholars the best education through cutting edge instruction and teacher-created curriculum. Thus, the scholars I educate have a hunger for knowledge, a strong work ethic, and drive for success.
