  • Science Lab

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

My students are having a great time using the supplies you donated. They look forward to science every week because they cannot wait to see what will happen in the next experiment we do. Thanks to the protective glasses, we have been able to experiment even more and get messy!

My 5th graders have especially benefited from your donations because they have a whole unit on chemical reactions. They were able to do all the experiments in the unit thanks to you. They even had a blast creating their own chemical reactions by mixing different materials together that were not part of the experiments. They could not have done this without your donations.

My class was so excited when the supplies were delivered and continue to look forward to using them. We have so many more science experiments to do now, thanks to you.”

  • Art Supplies for 4th Graders

    Funded May 21, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my project. My students have benefited from your generosity. Not only do they now have supplies at home to draw, create, and design, but they have more tools to use for classroom assignments as well. For example, my students got to create something out of the foam pieces that represented themselves. Then, they shared it with the class. This activity was such a great way for our class to bond and get to know each other. It also allowed the kids some time to do some offline activities that they would not have had the opportunity to do.

My students were so excited when they saw the materials because most of them did not have any crayons or paper or anything similar to it at home. They also have been able to do directed drawings related to classroom topics now that they have the materials.

The next steps are for my students to continue being creative offline, and to use the supplies for current school assignments.”

  • Passion Project: Origami to Help the Sick

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

When my students first saw all of the origami paper, their mouths dropped. They were so excited to help one of my students complete her Genius Hour/passion project. The student who led the project was so grateful. She taught kids during her recess time and during class time how to make origami cranes. The whole school participated, which brought a sense of community to our site. In a few short months, she was able to lead students to make over 500 cranes. Many students even took the origami paper home to make the cranes at night. We still have about 500 cranes to go in order to send them to Cranes for Cancer, but the school is determined to continue this project this school year. Thank you so much for making this project possible.”

  • Saving Monarch Butterflies

    Funded Apr 11, 2017

We planted our butterfly garden. Every student had a chance to put in the dirt and plant a seed. We also have a milkweed plant in the garden so the butterflies can come while the seeds are growing. The students are so excited to see the eggs on the leaves and watch as the butterfly life cycle unfolds before them. The kids were so excited when the materials came and could not wait to start planting and building the garden. Every day they cannot wait to check the garden to see if new eggs are there or if any caterpillars or chrysalises. It has made our learning come alive and has engaged students in ways beyond a book or video. Thank you!”

  • 21st Century Classroom

    Funded Mar 13, 2016

Every student is enjoying the furniture you bought us. They have a rotation system to use the couch and chairs, and the lapboards, pillows, and rug add to the comfort of my students during learning. They are more engaged and feeling more excited to be doing their work. In addition, they are learning crucial skills like sharing, independence, and self regulation because they have to know when it is their time to use the couch and chairs and need to practice taking turns and sharing the other items throughout the day. Plus, they are comfortable all day long. I love my mobile teacher station because I can teach from various parts of the room more easily. Thank you so much for giving my class this amazing gift.”

  • 21st Century Classroom Part 2

    Funded Mar 13, 2016

When I told my students they were getting new furniture and equipment to make their learning more comfortable and engaging, their faces lit up like I've never seen. Many of them could not contain their excitement. The day the furniture arrived was so special because it brought everything to reality. The kids could not believe the items were for our classroom and for them to use. Seeing my students choose how they learn most comfortably has been great. More students are on task and engaged and are enjoying learning. I cannot thank you enough for this amazing gift.”
