  • Good Vibes!

    Funded Mar 14, 2022

Thank you so much for your contributions to this project! Our students are excited to play mallet music in the percussion ensembles and to add vibraphone to our jazz rhythm section. Getting these projects funded to get new instruments means so much for us. I appreciate all of you and your willingness to help our music program thrive!”

    With gratitude,

  • Sticks and Mallets Galore!

    Funded Mar 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my classroom. We have a thriving percussion program but we are

without the funds to properly provide materials for our students. These sticks and mallets will go a long way and will help our students to continue making music year after year.”

  • Marching Band Supplies

    Funded Jan 27, 2020

Words cannot begin to express my gratitude for your donation to my classroom. It is truly amazing to see how many people are willing to support the arts!

Through your generous donations my students will receive much needed supplies that will help my band students for years to come. They are very excited to get these flip folders, replacement windows, and lyers so that they can perform on the field in the fall! They recognize how helpful these items will be to them in their playing and performing throughout their high school careers.

Without your help my students would not be able to afford these necessities, so again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Reeds for Days

    Funded Jan 24, 2020

Words cannot begin to express my gratitude for your donation to my classroom.

Through your generous donations my students will receive much needed supplies that will help my woodwind students for years to come. Reeds are such a necessity and it is difficult to imagine how much a bad reed can affect their ability to play, but it can make all the difference in the world to someone who is struggling on their instrument. They recognize how helpful these reeds will be to them in their playing and performing throughout their high school careers and are equally grateful to you for your support.

Without your help my students would not be able to afford these necessities, so again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

Words cannot begin to express my gratitude for your donation to my classroom. It is truly amazing to see how many people are willing to support the arts!

Through your generous donations my students have received much needed supplies that has helped my orchestra students greatly and will continue to do so for years to come. They are always breaking strings and having spares readily available to replace them with makes it so that everyone gets to play every day in class. They recognize how helpful these items will be to them in their playing and performing throughout their high school careers.

Without your help my students would not be able to afford these necessities, so again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Music Stands for Everyone!

    Funded Jan 20, 2017

Thank you for your kind donations to this project. Because of your help my students were able to have all the music stands we needed for our spring concert this year. It is sometimes difficult to imagine how much of a difference a small number of music stands can make, but it truly does make a huge difference.

At previous concerts we have never had enough music stands to go around and it has been extremely frustrating for the students who have to share stands with other students who read different music. At this latest concert we had enough music stands for everyone and the whole event ran so smoothly in comparison to previous concerts!

Thank you again for your kind and generous donations to this project.”

  • Hit the Drum!

    Funded Dec 16, 2016

Thank you so much for your generosity to my classroom. With our new sticks, mallets, and cymbal straps our students will be much better equipped for our competition season! It is a great feeling knowing that our students will be able to play their instruments without worrying about if their cymbal straps are going to break or if they have enough money to buy new sticks!

The students got to work with their new equipment as soon as it arrived in preparation for their next competition. They really love the new equipment and are truly grateful to have it. This year when we ended up having more bass drum players it was very stressful when we did not have enough mallets for everyone, but now we have plenty! All thanks to you.

Our drumline is getting bigger and more competitive with every month that goes by. Along with the three different drumline competitions this year, we are looking at starting to do parades this summer. We will be looking to purchase more drums in the future to accommodate our growing numbers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind donation to our program.”

  • Recording Devices

    Funded Jun 15, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for your generosity to my classroom. Our new Zoom recording devices are a tremendous addition to our classroom! There are so many different ways that we can use these devices to help us. The best example is instant feedback. I can record the students playing in class and then immediately play that recording for them to listen to their work. They are then able to analyze for themselves what they need to do in order to improve their playing for the next time they play it.

The students are also able to "check out" one of the recording devices and go into a practice room to record themselves playing a skills test or an audition. This cuts back on the amount of class time that I need to spend listening to individual playing tests one at a time which gives us more time to work as an ensemble. For the students though, this means that they don't have to get nervous about all of their classmates listening to their skills test, which they are extremely excited about.

I even have a few students who have started using these devices on their own on a regular basis so that they can listen to their recordings and improve. They are making drastic improvements already and can't wait to record auditions and chair tests and skills tests and anything else I might throw their way. All of my students "Ooooh'd" and "Aaaah'd" the first time we used the devices and the majority of them cannot wait to use them again, so thank you again for the incredible teaching tool you have provided to my classroom.”

  • Drumline Hardware

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for your generosity to my classroom. With our new rim savers our bass drum rims are holding up so much better! The snare drummers and quint players greatly appreciate the stick bags as well. It is a great feeling knowing that our bass drums will last longer and the snare drummers love being able to pull another stick out of their stick bag when one accidentally goes flying out of their hand in the middle of a cadence!

The students got to work with their new equipment as soon as it arrived in preparation for their final performance last year. They really love the new accessories and are truly grateful to have them. This year when we ended up having more bass drum players it was really nice to have a couple extra rim savers on hand that we could easily attach to the instruments

Our drumline is getting bigger and more competitive. We will be entering three different drumline competitions this year and will be looking to purchase more drums in the future to accommodate our growing numbers. We wouldn't have been able to salvage some of our bass drums that are in use this year without your help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind donation to our program.”

  • Needed Orchestra Supplies

    Funded Mar 7, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for your generosity to my classroom. With our new shoulder rests and end pin stops our students have finally been able to hold their instruments correctly! This has caused a major improvement in posture which has caused a major improvement in tone quality throughout the orchestra. It was so nice to be able to hand out instruments with their shoulder rests and end pin stops on the first day of school this year so that the students got to start the year off correctly.

The students have been so excited to use their shoulder rests and end pin stops! They are very protective of which one is "theirs" and take special care not to let it get mixed up with other students'.

This year our orchestra will be hosting a Halloween concert at our school and are working on not only providing the audience with creepy music, but also providing them with visual aesthetics to accompany the music. Part of their confidence to do a concert of this magnitude is because of their new shoulder rests and end pin stops, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping them to build confidence in themselves.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Malarkey

I am the only music teacher at an inner-city school in Seattle. In just one year my program has doubled in size and in academic rigor! The students at this school are extremely dedicated to music. Students come in during lunch and after school to practice because they can't practice at home, or sometimes because they would just rather play music with their friends than any of their other options! They seek out performance opportunities on a regular basis. They work diligently throughout the class period to make progress all the time. I consider myself lucky every day that I get to work with this fine group of students. The vast majority of our students face socioeconomic problems that make it extremely difficult for them to get instruments. We appreciate anything that you can do to help provide our students with the opportunity to play music on a daily basis.
