Help Give My Students an iPad to Further Their Learning!
Funded Dec 30, 2023First I would like to thank you for your generosity by donating to my project. It has meant the world to me and my students. With the addition of an iPad, my students are finally able to access applications that they could not before. Being able to use these applications that are geared towards students who are deaf and hard of hearing, they are able to gain independence. They can advocate for themselves with the help of these apps and are able to reach their full potential in and out of the classroom.
My students have been so excited to try the new apps and be able to have access to the internet during our deaf and hard of hearing education services sessions. we have been using the iPad in every session. My students are able to research information, read articles about the real world, and play the games that help with phonemic awareness and letter sound recognition. I can see their smiles as they continue to grow and learn.
Thank you again for your generosity. me and my students are forever grateful.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Schwartz
Help Students with Hearing Loss obtain a tablet
Funded Oct 30, 2015I first want to take a moment to say Thank You! It is because of your kind generosity that my students are able to access technology throughout the school day in a way they normally wouldn't be able to. The iPad that I am using with my hearing impaired students is mainly used as an extra tool to enhance their auditory memory, auditory recall, and speech reading skills. For my students in middle school we use the iPad to help with the many research projects they are given. Students are able to navigate the iPad with ease, opening apps that they know will advance their learning.
The students absolutely love the iPad. Everytime I bring it out their eyes open wide and big gasp comes out of their mouths. They get very excited to use this new piece of technology. My elementary school students enjoy the listening apps, one imparticular called Auditory Workout where they have to pay attention to what is being said and then pick the correct answer. once they get five right, they are rewarded with a short game within the app. This is one of their favorites. The middle school students love the accessibility it offers. We are able to use it anywhere we are in the school. The convenience of looking up denfinitions to words they do not know, doing research for the many projects they have, the iPad can do it all and they have no problem using it.
All of my students love using the iPad and are so thankful for your generous donations. Without you, we wouldn't have one and their learning would not have been able to be expanded into this new world around them. Again I thank you and appreciate you all.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Schwartz
